Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Burnout is everywhere right now

The expectations keep going up while support keeps dropping. People are stretched thin and it's starting to show in every possible way. You can’t keep pushing without something breaking.

"oh please it is not that bad? I've had much worse jobs. Su-k it up buttercup"

Found the boomer who "works" from home moving his mouse around.

They’re draining the life out of their employees, and it’s sad. This used to be a positive place to work. Now, it’s become miserable and toxic. I really hope our new leadership considers replacing some of the people who’ve been driving it in the wrong direction for far too long.

Well by the morning his stock will take another hit. Once the JD starts interrogations on all those who were complicit with beefing up those risk adjustment scores . Don’t lie if you get contacted. Cause if you do and say you didn’t know anything or try to defend the plan and they find out you knew or suspected what you were doing was wrong, and under Medicare regulations you must report fraud even if you are not sure. Could come to bite you in the a!/?!

@ax yes it is that bad, maybe not your position, but some of use have worked 70-80 + hours a week while being on call 24/7 working nights/weekends for no extra pay just to be told you have to do more.

This is plain and simple ATTRITION. Making the employees miserable so that we will quit and not need to be laid off. Just do the best you can every day. DO NOT work overtime, always take a full lunch.. or yes you will get burned out! Very unfortunate time for Optum and UHG.

This job is su-king all the life out of their employees. So sad to see where this company use to be and where it is now.

When the job market is weak, there is no incentive for the company to improve the employee experience. Sad but true.

@OP and all Hemsley can say is "we'll have to work harder." It will be interesting to see what that could possibly look like.
