Thread regarding Konica Minolta layoffs

Fujifilm acquisition

I heard last week by some senior colleagues in the know that our friends at Fuji have been circling - is there any truth to this in terms of them acquiring us, given the state of our continuous lacklustre performance and a delusional excom?

You guys are a bunch of robots that are scared to death to do anything that goes against being a yes man.
Always an excuse. Regardless of whatever it is. I totally pity you all.

Following the same foot steps as Xerox.
Like watching a train wreck in slow motion, let’s hope that people know when to step out of the way.
Bullheadedness and poor managerial decisions do not make a company survive. It only reinforces what everyone who has an IQ above room temperature already knows.
Amazingly, that somehow they think It will be different here.

The definition of insanity…but I digress…

Like the captain going down with the ship. Maybe you need a Jet pack to get off that sinking ship, like pronto.

Amazing thing….alternative ideas. 💡

Are you people still in Business ? Seriously? 😐

I don’t care who buys you out, if you still employ tin plated dictators to manage here, the results will be the same. Failure.

To expect a different result every time, while changing nothing, is not logical.

But guessing that history has made its judgement on this already. 👋👋👋

@324 no actually they announced on their investor website that they posted a significant profit on lower revenues, likely making money finally after liquidating several losing units and nearly 6,000 employees termed or jumping ship

y'all will know more at the end of this week when the Q1 2025 financials are released. More losses even with over 3,000 employee cuts worldwide?

We cannot survive on the current trajectory and really need to sell off units so we can invest in our future. More cuts to come as well I suspect. Being purchased by Fuji wouldn’t be a bad thing, although they really are a manufacturer so perhaps they’d want us to enable a services biz to end users.

@OP Not sure what will happen but financial results are delayed longer than usual, for announcement on 7/31. Pieces are starting to be sold off again. Look for announcements over the next couple weeks

Is there any truth in this? I know we’ve got the JV with Fuji but not heard much come from these folks on progress and the overall plan.

Something just happened in the last month or so with the Minolta trademark. Minolta cameras are back (now sold at Costco) under the Elite Brands licensing. Intriguing. Maybe the Konica trademark will remain after Fuji or someone buys them? https://www.minoltadigital.com/about-us
