Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Can we expect more layoffs today?

Or was it all wrapped up yesterday? I feel silly even asking. I guess we've been stuck in rolling layoffs for quite a while now.

The roadmap is whatever head count target Bain tells them and the strategy is the same since Covid: chicken sh-t. Make toxic so people leave and they don’t have to pay severance. It’s going to cost them much more in the long run, like someone who leases new cars always because they’re too cheap to pay for new tires or brakes. Surprised they haven’t reversed course yet. But they’re running scared of being caught flat footed with bloated Dell badge when AI is finally up to the task of replacing us. Better contractors in India they can cut bait anytime.

I want to know if the layoff includes the real decision makers that failed to bring Revenue. If the VP Product and Sr. Dir Product are still being given a job in Edge AI, we know the rest of us are going to be laid off due to their continued wrong decisions.

@OP

They're currently prioritizing ISG, and the layoffs began earlier than anticipated due to their scale and they will probably last until August or September. If you're in the US and lose your job to these layoffs, your role is likely being outsourced to a developing country.

A company that raises contract prices while outsourcing jobs overseas is despicable. They aim to capitalize on their country's economic growth without fairly sharing the wealth with their employees. It's ruthless. If anyone needs a dose of those "ethics" courses, it’s definitely the upper management team.

I feel it is a rolling layoff. They probably have some sort of roadmap but we will never know about it. I've known people that have been laid off at all points within a year.
