Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Congress cuts UHG revenue...

We had a hiring spree of 32+ ICs in the lobbying office under the new admin. Now this bill passes, stripping billions of healthcare spend that will directly hit multiple parts of our org both revenue and margin? It hits direct revenue and the payers/providers that buy our stuff will cut spend.

This is a really direct failure on lobbying KPIs that happened under our new fearless washington insiders. What are the odds we lay off a few thousand of the rank and file in response?

@ba To save costs, private health insurance as a business function should disappear and for-profit companies providing healthcare should be outlawed. Funny enough this admin will bring this about by destroying the house of cards.

@OP You want the American people to keep paying for the companies who steal from taxpayers and continuously deny services that are covered by the games this company plays. Sure they say they pay 90 percent of the claims, what they haven’t disclosed is the claim is paid at a fraction of what they should have paid while the customer picks up most of the tab. So insurance pays a buck and customer pays 90 percent of that claim and Medicare is billed thousands .
