Thread regarding ALDI layoffs

The "real story" ..my neighbor's wife works at aldi

Since covid she would hardly work, and would joke about it regularly how she "loved" being paid and not working basically, She was still "working" from home 3 days a week and spent most of those days out shopping or doing thing around the house ...she re landscaped the yard (looks beautiful probably spent 100 hours doing it), repainted the house, and was doing major renovations inside all during the week..when she was supposed to be working. On top of this she had a side dog walking business lol. This "work" from home situation has been disastrous for American productivity. She often said "if they make me go back to five days I will quick and find another company with a better work at home policy" ...

Aldi employees like my neighbor feel entitled to get paid full pay for 20% of the work

@OP lol nah, anyone who works there knows this is not the case. Work from home is over though, better get on board - the pendulum swung back in favor of the employee a long time ago

There is always going to be one or two in corporate offices that take advantage of the remote work. I can say I know one person that certainly does it. However, the majority of ALDI corporate is working the roles of 3 to 5 people. Cannot generalize the whole corporate staff.

I find it very interesting that you refer to her as your neighbor's wife and not just your neighbor? Is it not also her primary address?

As an AB impacted by the layoffs, this post is infuriating. We currently have a team of four ABs carrying the workload of seven (literally lost three employees without having them replaced). Keep in mind the workload of seven people at ALDI is the workload of about ten people with another company. So you do the math, these are not ideal conditions. I hope this is a troll post and/or this person was found out because that’s completely unfair and couldn’t be further from the truth for anyone I’ve worked with. We are going nonstop every single day and are still drowning. But don’t worry, they will be more short staffed in October… it will be fine.

@bj My role is the same. I only ever step away from my computer for lunch. We constantly have more added to our workload, and I couldn't imagine having that much free time!

I have no idea what department she works for but in my role(100 of us just lost our job) we oversee tens or hundreds of millions in projects. We're paid significantly below industry standard and can not look away from our screen without falling behind.
