Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

The Quiet Quitter's Manifesto

There have been days when the policy feels impossible.
Burned by sudden edicts—five‑day office mandates, attendance tracking, threats on promotions—it’s easy to feel small, anxious, boxed in.

But trust is a pure idea.
It grows from mutual respect, autonomy, and honest leadership—not from badge swipes and secret quotas.

Spontaneous acts of resistance are already happening.
People skipping the commute, speaking up in surveys, quietly walking out the door. Even those who stay often feel they’re chained—not chosen.

Dell’s need for control is desperate—because it’s unnatural.
Micromanagement. Surprise mandates. Careers held hostage. These measures require constant reinforcement, and that’s why they eventually crack.

Authority is brittle—watch it leak.
Every dissenting voice, every opting-out of the attendance scheme, every “no thanks” to in-office mandates chips away at the facade.

Soon, there will be one too many.
One policy that tips the balance. One exit too many. One voice that breaks the silence.

Remember this: Try.
Try voicing your concerns. Try demanding transparency. Try walking—literally or figuratively—if that’s what it takes to reclaim trust.

The goal of upper management is to identify all the quiet quitters and ensure they are included in the next round of layoffs. One indication is that these individuals are likely not spending eight hours in the office and are delivering mediocre performance. It won’t be difficult to identify them. It’s time to remove these free riders and entitled individuals

I laugh at the senior leadership team behind closed doors patting themselves on the back at how “well” they are doing in the current situation. All these shisters are doing are preserving their own wealth and self image. The latter is hilarious as nobody gives two sh--s in the market about some fat cat who has sat in a dell leadership position. Atleast they are lining their pockets at the expense of people’s mental health, how inspiring they are!

I quiet quit about 5 years ago hoping to get layed off with a severance package. My raises and bonuses have never been higher. This is the way.

Concerns have been voiced for years. Specific people called out and examples given. No change - just glossed over and ignored. Tell Dell used to actually read the comments, listen to the people and try to do something. Now, nada. Voicing concerns now will get you on the layoff list.
