Please hire College Grads and stop hiring contractors in H1/H4s . They are taking jobs out from us.

I couldn't AGREE MORE and do see it first hand !!! I and all the way to the TOP of house Indians support and hire their own- which is not correct.
But Blame Citi Not Indians- it is the company goes abroad to hire ..
Let's not Blame the immigrants..same old story- put the Blame Where it should GO..
Citi needs to hire and support everyone and the bright and young...
It's very hard to get into Citi IT teams unless you belong either Brahmin or Vaishya castes.
This is true for both contractors and full time employees.
Contracting companies in Citi mostly hire Brahmins.
If you don't believe this, just check the full names of your random selection of Desi workers at Citi!
Not just Citi. This applies to all major banks.
Most of the roles are filled by internal candidates or by referrals. They just post the jobs to show to labor department.
HR at Citi is a scam and most of the Desi hiring managers are not genuine.
I don’t think it’s cost. They pay well for contractors . I strongly feel we need diversity and do you know any IT org which are not indian heavy. It’s the management who gets accustomed to keeping their own folks . They are ready to give opportunities to H4 EADs who were obselete but not give the same options to college grads . It’s high time this needs attention before the abuse is too cancerous
H4 EAD = Texas Backdoor entry. Severely abused by contracting companies to find cheap Indian labor . Wish USICS , CITI take stern actions in this aspect and provide opportunities for fresh college graduates.
Hire your own folks, before hiring someone from abroad! The H1, H4 and EAD will stay for ever, like those which invaded Europe

To the OP - no way, man, companies minimize costs nowadays - they will prefer visa holders, because they are ready to work for less money and have nowhere to go. The good days of stable career path are over.
