Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

LinkedIn

How important is LinkedIn in a job search? I made an account a while back just to say I have one, but I haven’t touched it since. Do recruiters actually look at that stuff? Because to me, it just seems like a never-ending stream of fake-sounding posts and corporate fluff that have nothing to do with real life.

OP sounds like an Intel lifer.
Not a clue about how the world works outside of Intel.

@OP the fact that you are even asking this question means you are absolutely cooked. When’s the last time you looked for a job? It’s the defacto “resume” for most professionals.

People who post on LinkedIn are unhinged shills, however merely having an account is a necessary evil for the job hunt. Recruiters use it heavily and having a complete profile will get extra eyes on you.
