We are in a 10 day change freeze, any idea why?

What ? layoffs coming ? Why local companies are hiring for 25 contract positions ? I even got a message from a recruiter to hire as citi contractor.

A sudden freeze, no code deploy,
Just whispers now—no builds, no joy.
“Transformation!” Jane declares on high,
While staff get cut and morale runs dry.
Lofty nods, says “AI,” then sips herbal tea,
While legacy systems scream silently.
Tim opens CMPs (they crash on load),
Then tells us—again—he once stocked shelves in grocery mode.
Jane’s got Jamie envy, dreams his clout,
But all we ship is half-baked doubt.
Tim brags of marathons, kids, and fate—
While ignoring the org’s decay rate.
Warren bailed—smart move, no pity.
Berkshire fled this s--ty city.
Now we freeze not for bugs or care...
But to clear the decks for a layoff scare.
