I have on good authority! That there will be even bigger news breaking Friday! Management are panicking, and a full damage control team have been assembled to mitigate the upcoming fallout. This is going to be much bigger that just layoffs. There is going to be a lot of collateral damage in the coming weeks with regards to OU's and positions. I truly hope that not too many people are effected.

Well, I'm in Customer Care US and last year, the layoffs that affected us happened the third week of May. No one has been laid off yet and I know they definitely need to lay some of us off.

The leave that Medtronic provides to people impacted meets the WARN requirement so they don’t have to publicly disclose.
Many large companies do this, just ask your friends at Target Corp. My guess is UHC will announce their upcoming layoffs because that company’s perception is already so sideways.
The idea that they would release scandalous information about themselves while the market is open is just profoundly ludicrous to suggest. Having said that, I put nothing past this company in those regards.
There was no news of neurovascular layoffs in the media when it happened last December, and nothing in WARN too. So I am guessing there's a reason behind not reporting all layoffs??

MPR had a story a couple days ago that ‘about 20’ were let go from PRL. Other than that, I’ve not seen much news external.
I would assume this is a relatively small RIF, if MPR can get out of bed for 20 id assume other sources would report a much larger RIF too

Leadership will probably never tell us how many people were let go. Big companies are good at getting around state and federal laws requiring them to report exact numbers. They do this by spreading out layoffs and staying under minimum reporting thresholds in specific states.
Does anyone know how many are being laid off? I was one of 2 people let go in my department, but I don’t know of anyone else in my BU. The lack of media coverage is making me feel it was more target towards me than a major restructuring and associated layoff.
Unless you're directly involved with any communication coming from Medtronic, don't speculate or spread rumors, which they are until confirmed!
