Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

I think we are forgetting why we post here..

Maybe it's just me.. Maybe some will agree, some won't, but it's a bit unsettling when you read some of these comments, most recent regarding posting atomic bo-b pics, etc.. I thought this site was for voicing your opinions about issues in your selected locations, supporting each other while venting about your concerns, providing information to each other if you have it.. I guess I'm trying to figure out what the relevance is to post those types of disparaging comments.?

@OP , it’s an anonymous site, there’s always a troll or two trying to stir the pot. Don’t feed them - just ignore. The mods clean things up regularly and will probably nuke the trollers eventually. If they’re taking too long, you can always try to ping them by email or tag #admins #mods.

I think one of the points here is to share with others that certain executive management people (current and x) are not what they present to be. While they may express how good the company is doing to you and your teams, behind the scenes they are treating people as place holders on a fixed cost list. They push open communication and the positive treatment to each other and again behind the scenes they do not practice what they preach. So, while no one wants to hear about one's infidelity during work with an employee or miss use of HR policy, I believe as an employee being aware so you can avoid that management person is key. Canon management out of the BOCA office has a real HR problem in how employees are being treated, what expenses are being blindly approved for friends and not others and the whole scenario that many of the Sr. Directors and up have 2 jobs going on. It's a double standard that should be made aware, especially for the non-OCE employee who are being targeted.

There is no doubt that Canon is following this site, it's obvious with the harsh counter postings and the discussions that managers have with their teams after certain posts.

If you ask me, almost all of the postings about layoffs and internal management have proven to be true. Even what some would consider assumptions, have played out to be true.

People that are miserable or know that they are over paid and can easily be eliminated like to stir the pot! I never see facts or leaks on this site - just assumptions, rumors and lies.
