Thread regarding HCL Technologies layoffs

HCL/Verizon Rebadge Unethical Sc--w Job

Anyone have the skinny on why HCL is forcing rebadged Verizon employees to submit for other jobs when FMO’d? Rebadged employees were promised Verizon severance as long as they stayed on the Verizon account within the 2 year contract. Now HCL is demanding Verizon rebadged employees to submit their resume for job reallocation if not they’re saying you voluntarily resign from your position. This can’t be legal.

I am from the EMEA region. What is happening here with HCL is unbelievable. We know that we will be terminated at some point as part of the FMO. I'm already looking forward to that. When you communicate with HR it's a monologue. You don't get any answers. It's as if you didn't exist.
The escalation numbers have been going up since the switch from Verizon to HCL Tech. Customers are totally pi---d off.
Everything is going according to plan. Hans wanted to get rid of VBG. We all know that. Verizon made a mega deal with HCL Tech. And HCL Tech fell for it. First, Verizon earns money from the contracts with the customers. Then HCL Tech has to pay a penalty to Verizon for bad ticket numbers. And in the end, when the last customer has left the sinking ship, Hans has a good laugh. VBG is broken and Verizon has lined its pockets.

Do you really want to relocate with HCL just to get laid off in a year or so? They can’t be trusted and the pay would be close to half of most of the Verizon employees were getting paid.

Verizon is to blame for getting in bed with HCL. Hans and Kyle Malady knew exactly what would happen. HCL had to have told them they were planning on replacing all former US based Verizon employees ( 6,000 total! ) Now Verizon business customers will suffer because of the clear incompetence and inexperience of the HCLtech replacement employees. The outsourcing of the Verizon employee jobs to India was done so haphazardly. You reap what you sow!! The aftermath is coming for both HCL and Verizon.

My last day was May 1st. There was a deposit made into my bank account on the 16th that looks to be my severance payout, but the check stub will not be available until the 30th. I signed and returned the letter the same day it was sent to me. I received my vacation payout on the 6th and the check stub was not available until the 16th. I have a bonus that they have said would be paid on June 13th. I am so glad to be unemployed and have no intention of looking for another job. I will be going onto Social Security later this year as I will be turning 70.

I am so annoyed that they are playing games. I am absolutely going to an attorney if they invent a reason to not pay out the severence. They've already violated other things in my offer before the two years.

This response may be unwelcome, but given I was RIF'd a few months ago. The job market is very tight right now and getting worse. I wish HCL had approached me to reallocate me than trying to navigate this job market. Note, I was not of long tenure, so my "severance" while helpful is not comparable to what some of the lifers get. Good luck

This is all sketchy as he-l. Drag us along with the promise of FMO/Severance....dangling the carrot making empty promises. And now pulling this sh*t. Also giving us less than a week's notice to submit a new CV in an email system that won't even accept an attachment. This place is such a joke and I can't wait to get the he-l out.

Verizon also said that the STI would remain the same all the while knowing that they were only going to pay 75%.

Perhaps a union drive or lawsuit may get their attention…
