Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

NO LAYOFFS!! You heard it here first!!

No one left to layoff. We are all critical, not even DOGE could find waste at Intel.

In fact I have it on good word that LBT will give those of us that remain hefty raises.

Enjoy your weekend, don’t worry!!

Lip-Bu is doing what Andy Grove would have done, which is walk out the door, then come back in and look at the actual situation.

The smart thing to do would be to have EVERYONE reapply for their jobs, which have to be approved by GM level or above and fit specified criteria.

Either way, the biggest reorganization in the history of the company is what is coming.

The immediate layoffs might not be too impressive, but he is likely to provide a definition of the process where the Board makes a Start-Stop-Continue decision on everything.

So think of it as maybe a year of rolling layoffs, sales or shut down of various groups.

That could easily get to where half of the current company is no longer a blue badge. Many in the fabs will become contract labor, and that is where the real big change is coming.

Notice that Ann got pushed out, 'retiring' at 59. That's where the resistance was and that is where the most change will happen.

You may not have heard it here first, and that is ok.

For the fabs (under Naga) there will be good news and bad news.

The Good News: You are not fired.
The Bad News: You are now a contract worker.

For many in TD the message is more simple: buh bye.

No executive 'retires' at 59, ever. Ann was pushed out because she refused to right-size TD in the last Hunger Games after having made TD headcount morbidly obese during the 5N4Y extravaganza.

It's true, there will be few actual layoffs, mostly focused on middle managers as has been publicly described.

Most will simply be terminated, with some (like those wasting away their shift online or sleeping in their cars) terminated for cause.

All the low performers were identified in the last round of 'fun', all that is left is to act on that info.

Yes you are correct OP. No major public layoff announcement since Intel is doing great and on track to bankruptcy but there is secret silent layoff inside that maybe you and nobody knows.

Nope - no layoffs.
Termination for cause / performance, though, will happen.

OP is talking sarcastically. Enjoy the weekend since we can not change the course either way.

Layoffs will be in phases … so it will be an ongoing process throughout the year , if you are strong individual contributor working on critical projects then should be safe else please start looking out asap ..

Nice try but I doubt many people will stop worrying. There are really only two outcomes, being laid off or assuming sweatshop hours and workload. Tough choice.
