Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

So split is on the table again?

Or that’s just a rumor? I only wish we all have other options lined up by the time they figure out what they are going to do and implement it.

It's going to be torn apart by big venture capital companies .
The parts are worth more than the whole.
The patents alone would make it worthwhile.

@OP: don’t worry about silly rumors they’ll distract you from your job

You should rest comfortably at night in the ironclad assurance that the ship will sink as one piece and put us all on the street without the messiness of a split

@db I don’t think @br typo’d at all. (Or got an autocorrect whammy) Cess pools is the more typical usage but post split IFS would risk making gloflo look successful

The split was always inevitable, despite Pat’s hopes and statements to the contrary. TSMC prides themselves on never competing with their customers so this was always going to be a competitive problem for an Intel-owned foundry.

@br "cease pools" really? How about cesspools? I guess we know which pool your work is from.

The fab side of split will be he-l. Rounds of layoffs. Slow career growth. Just look at the others fabs who split - they are literally cease pools . Stay as far away as possible from fab side of split

Split is the only way for survival. Otherwise that will be Titanic.
