Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

I for one...

Would never want a job that had to be protected by a union.

Would never want my pay to be protected. I want earn what I'm worth.

Would never want some dunderheads telling me to walk out and lose $$$ so they can protect their union subscriptions.

I want to be paid what I'm worth, take my career in my own hands and find companies that value me.

And guys/gals anytime the above isn't true, ya'll known that ultimately you'll have to move on aa yway. Take ownership of your own Iives and stop being Union puppets.

We see you're putting those knee pads to good use...bravo.

That's a cheap shot - hope you feel good about it. The people on here are pathetic, small minded and don't deserve a company like ours. Get out.

"We see your lot come and go, like clockwork."

LOL ain't that the truth. Been here 15+ years and I'm on my 8th LM.

Best way to give up what little job security there is is to take a "promotion" to a management position.

Why would anyone want to know about upcoming layoffs? All companies change shape all the time, they are constantly hiring, constantly laying off. Just look at T-Mobile recently. Hardly a basket case. So why do you want to know? Go crying to the unions? Write teenage angst posts here? What planet are you on. If you want to avoid being layer off, ensure you are part of the future not the past. Simples stoopid

These boards have become more about spreading union busting propaganda and less about what's actually happening with this company. Ridiculous.

Someone please keep us informed if they hear anything new about layoffs coming in the future. Thanks.

Oh, and BTW this is the OP, I'm in my late 50s and have enjoyed working hard and being judged on my own merits my whole life. I don't need a Union mafia to support me. Only the weak, stupid or incapable would ever want that

To the OP,

Your naivete gives you up as someone who has never had to work much... yet. You're going to find that companies value only one thing, and it won't be you. Companies today are not offering benefits, or pensions, or other perks because they are no longer interested in attracting the best candidates. They are in a race to the bottom, and don't even want employees because they require things, like livelihoods and respect. They have no interest in fostering anyones skills, they want profits for cheap. Unions are the only saving grace against this kind of greed. You'll find out soon enough.

The musings of a bitter old man who recognizes that life has past them by, all that potential unfilled and never managed to make the American dream com true. So now has to rely on a morally and operationally corrupt Union as a crutch to support them when in fact there is nothing to support. I would just retire and tend your yard if I were you, you'll never be happy.

The only problem I see with this mindset is that FTR does not see any worth in employees below the executive/director level. Any employee below the state level (eg hourly employees and even lower level management), FTR sees you only as a number that is entirely replaceable. Trying to prove your worth in this company is pointless, which is why employees that have been here for years have basically given up on trying to make a difference. You're just ba----g your head against the wall every single day.

When I hired in I remember thinking how all the top senior guys just bitched and coasted thru every day instead of "gettin' after it" and busting their a-s for this company. After a few years of getting beat down by FTR I see EXACTLY why they behaved the way they did.

If I had any inclination to believe Frontier would pay us "what we are worth", I would jump on board with your statements wholeheartedly. Sadly because I don't think FTR would do anything but further abuse it's employees, my job will be about clocking in, clocking out, and getting paid. Nothing more.
