Compensation Grade

Does anyone know what this means in the job profiles on workday?

my position comp grade is the same as the old mid point for area 2. I am in area 1 and my base salary was significant higher than my old midpoint. Still can't find any info the the pay range. In our old title we had employees at level 3, 4, and 5 who were all mapped over to the same new title so seems like pay range could be huge?

This might be the least helpful comment I’ve ever seen lol. If you had good intentions I’m sorry.

I don’t think they actually care. They created a whole LOB last year that reports to Charlie, is totally non revenue generating, and costs an absolute fortune in salaries.

It tells Charlie's gang what area is too top heavy in salary expenditures is what I am guessing.

@1dwb+1eA3mzJ4. So we shouldn’t worry or care about what the pay range is for our jobs?

Compensation Grade is assigned to a Job Profile based on the level of responsibilities performed by an incumbent of the Job Profile. Pay ranges are defined in Compensation Grade Profile. Workday Business User Terminology Glossary.

Teller comp grade is 10. They make 20 bucks an hour or a bit over 40k. This doesn’t have to do with the formula comp grade X salary = job midpoint. It seems more like a logarithmic scale of some sort.

@1hmd Based on what your’s is, I would think 110 is the base or average. Not a max. You’re probably hitting 129-130 so 110 is probably the average or a starting point.

I am mapped to grade 110. My old job code midpoint was 120k with 10% bonus target. My salary is slightly less than midpoint.

@1nlf Yes, but wouldn’t you think these are the average salaries out there for these roles at any bank? Seems like those are probably good ideas of where they fall. If we look at a loan doc assoc, the pay grade is 40 but if we look at a Lead Data Engineer in IT, the pay grade is listed as 120. I’m safe to assume those roles have a salary in the 40k range and 120k. Seems like we only need to figure out if 120 is the starting salary, the mid point or the max.

Sounds like the yearly base max maybe? like a cap?

I was just looking at that OP. If I had to guess, I took my comp before bonus and divided it by the old BASE MRP for my area/job family and I got 93%. My current comp grade in the new workday job fam says 90. Seems like that is pretty close. Otherwise, I can only conclude I make 90k. LOL! You either make 110 a yr or you are over your midpoint based on the old pay scale but still below your max.

I also think this helps HR determine who to put on the Hit List.

So you can look up the comp grade for literally any job. CEO of WF is 250. CEO of consumer and small business banking is 240. Regional Bank senior executive is 190.

Charlie scharf, mary Mack, and Michelle lee do not have salaries of 250k, 240k, and 190k so there’s not a direct correlation. I wish they’d just post the dang ranges like they’d use to. It’s cool we can look up any job in the company but they don’t tell us too much lol

Those of you that are 110 would 110k make sense for the old MRP area 2?

It’s more analytics to tell Shart where the fat is and to design more programs like cutting benefits for the ‘highly compensated’
