Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Underpaid?

Since I have more and more work almost every day, I feel more and more underpaid. From talking to some friends who work in other financial institutions, State Street seems to significantly underpay its employees.
Did you make any comparisons? I wonder if others here also feel underpaid.

Since around 2010, if I get any annual pay increase which is usually a fraction of a percent, my bonus is decreased by exactly the same amount compared to prior year. Seriously, it’s to the penny.

STT underpaid you to rip you off for their gain, you are just a donkey in the senior managements' eyes

You must be a new worker or one that has been there for less than 5 years.

The company has been outsourcing work for the last 19 years.
They been bringing in H1B workers for the last 15 years.

And yes most U.S workers have been doing double and triple workloads without any big increase in pay for the last 15 years.

If the Ceo and Senior mgt were smart they would have giving the remaining U.S workers a nice raise to try and keep moral up.

But nope the motto is be happy you still have a job with us.

I know some departments were the staff was cut from 10 people down to 6 workers.
And when somebody is on vacation or out on disability then you are down to 5 workers

STT is well known for being one of the lowest paid financial companies. But if you are not thinking to leave the company due to poorly paid, then why complaint? STT is looking to replace all US staff with cheap resource in Indian and other countries, you should feel lucky that you are paid better than those in Indian, or STT has not send you home yet.

STT pay rate is about 15% or more below market, not talking the 1% bonus. But workload for developers are at least 15% more partially due to constant layoff.
