Climate Action Plan

I can't wait to find out what the UP climate action plan will be like. What do you think? It's great that UP "cares" about the climate, but I would like them to start caring more about the safety as well so that we don't hear about employees on board the train getting injured!

You are responsible for your safety. Don’t rely on someone else to keep you safe. This is true no matter where you work and includes your personal time. UP doesn’t care about your safety, or what would happen to your family if something happened to you. Watch out for yourself and your co-workers.

Well I seriously doubt it's going to include actually fixing the equipment they have so they'll actually run the way they're supposed too! If they really want to fix the climate issue with global warming, then they should start with eliminating the executives that blow hot air all day.

UP doesn’t give a s*** about you, your family, or saving the environment.

@OP Considering that the entire UP fleet runs on diesel and some of their most lucrative rolling stock consists of fossil fuels, you can expect their “climate plan” to consist of corporate platitudes and minor gestures such as tree-planting.

People keep saying that UP and other companies are “woke”. They’re not. They’ve co-opted popular language for public relations purposes. UP is the same UP that it was in 1895.

They care so much about the planet that they dump creosote soaked ties next to neighborhoods, and give everyone cancer.
