Yes this layoff would definitely hurt ESI. Good employees would jump ship soon. Some already did.

If these companies were so great, it makes you wonder why the owners entertained and accepted the Emerson tender?

Total BS. Trying to exonerate PD and PSS leadership from screwing up great companies prior to Emerson. If these companies were headed for bankruptcy, why would Emerson pay a huge premium.

Perhaps a lot of the blame could be placed on RAS management it PSS and Systems and Solutions management have managed RAS and all of the smaller acquisitions very poorly. PSS management cannot see beyond a DCS and haven’t been able to for over 20 years.

Well, why would EMR buy these businesses? Another great risk/vision taken DFN, & the infamous Eddie Monser or Monster??? Can you say ENP ??

You are still somewhat free to hold an opinion although that and your ability to express it are being reduced across all of North America. And my opinion is different from yours.

Obviously you would not buy a company that was headed the wrong way. However no one that was involved in acquiring these companies nor the companies that were acquired knew what was ahead.

Additionally, the management that came along with the acquired companies bears responsibility as well!

That is a bu–––––t take. Those companies were better managed on their own than the pi–s–poor job management they had once at RAS.

And I do believe the leadership at RAS is to blame. Maybe not just PD, but quite a few of them don’t have a clue and they never listened to the concerns employees were bringing up. Also that survey they have every few years is a joke. You had people saying 3 out of 5 and then Emerson had labeled that as being excellent.

Also why is it that difficult to believe of person at the top could cause that much damage. Farr did with when he burned billons on his Network Power mistake. And historically all the acquisitions have failed to give a good ROI and yet he wanted to get Rockwell Automation, while treating employees like cattle last year. And his approach of laying off thousands while keeping his stock options. He could have done much more like a true leader. So yes, Emerson is full of ineffective leaders who are destroying business and careers.

I don’t really understand your point. Why would you buy a company that was going to be out of business if we had not have brought them. Is that what we do these days? Are we some kind of grand saviour of poor performing companies.
