Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is Anne Chow a massive show off ? Please comment

I am no expert but it seems to be that Anne Chow is a massive show off. She is more concerned about her achievement having become the 1st asian woman CEO than actually serving in that role. Even in the StopAsianHate townhall on Friday , her introduction was 3 minutes long - glorifying all her achievements and how a woman of color is ruling the business world...

In all fairness, kudos to her - Im sure she worked her butt off and faced her share of s-xism and racism but why mention her greatness every opportunity she gets ? She calls herself a best selling author - she was a contributor to the book on unconscious bias , written by people shes on the board with at franklin covey. She wears wonder woman suits and parades on Linkedin as a hipster.

I have not seen one shred of vision, roadmap about business from her nor has she led by example.

Sorry for rant, but I feel she should get the message - Stop resting on your laurels, stop showing off, you are no more special nor below anyone else who works for you. Lead by example and invest in your people

Is Anne Chow a massive show off ? Please comment

Common sense says most people don’t have any beef again Chow or her personal achievements. Being a high level executive isn’t about what Chow personally had done, it is about what she has done for the business. I havent work for her org, so I don’t know. All I see is none stop promotional campaign to celebrate her status. Meanwhile, her division had gone though brutal layoffs, and she called herself a servant leader. All these don’t added up, never mind race, gender, etc. Chow has the time to be an influencer on LinkedIn, write blogs, winning all sorts of community and diversity awards, all perfectly fine. Ultimately, what has she brought to the business???

It is tough to be as good at Randall or Stankey. They took care of the workers and the investors. Fortunate to have these great people running AT&T.

When Anne Chow ran the PCG org she was as tough as they come. She’s results oriented and expected her/our teams to deliver. Had to bring your A Game .... she did not take BS from anyone. So all the irrelevant chatter about her race and her not being as qualified as Randall or Stankey suggest you don’t know her history at all....

So now you’re annoyed that a successful, educated, talented woman woman who happens to be Asian is beating her own drum...how typical. Recall a recent very unsuccessful ‘businessman’ who talked non-stop about his ‘successes’ which were actually failures...his big brain, his ability to ‘win’.....and millions loved that schtick. But let a woman tell her story.....and it’s cause for criticism...How absurd. Jealous much?

She is overrated. She is not as qualified as Randall or Stankey.

That was a promote the company townhall. Stankey wanted all employees to get another message about how diverse AT&T is and an hour of showboating by Chow and the HR dude Corey Anthony on how wonderful they are and how they care. Of course Cory is full of BS and stated the 8 slayings in Atlanta were aimed at Asians when in fact 2 were not Asians but all 8 were message parlor workers which was the aim of that terrible crime not Aisans for being Asian. Poor example to use!!

Just another nonstop self promoter.

Many people in my circle are great admirer of Chow, I don’t get it. I would be more impressed if she brings in multimillion contracts for ABS. Last I head, they gone through massive layoff, no great news on the revenue front. I’m open to change my mind, all I hear and see is endless self promoting BS.

I'd watch that town hall a dozen times.
Nap.
Restart the device numerous times.
Just to be sure I got the message.
They couldn't deliver newspapers much less run a company.
But they do have plenty of money...get some.

I’m Asian and have never experienced all this hate everyone keeps talking about. Nor has anyone in my family. Idk.

Large egos are what got the company into the mess it is in now.

This is literally the recipe for all our senior leaders or C-suite execs. "Look how great I am!", Talk about lots of buzzwords, Invent new ways of doing business but are just really old ways that failed but now sound cool.

As other posters have said, did you check clear on 3/22? As long as the answer to that is yes then don't give a p–p about anything else at this company. Get paid to do your work and that is it. The value you provide to think and want to succeed is no longer valued here so just collect your money and move on.

It s—s that it has to be that way but after a while you can only care so much.
