Staples has been the worst company I have worked for. Between the lack of formal training and people who are lazy and unwilling to work together as a team, it was a terrible working experience. Like so many others, I was hired, came in with fresh ideas and a strong work ethic only to be constantly watched and told on by my coworkers who didn't know great customer service if it would have bit them in the a–. To a manager who didn't want to see the team or myself succeed in any fashion. They were so used to providing sh–ty service and "hiding under the radar" as they put it from the company. To actually provide kick a– service and give the company a reason not to outsource would have been more ideal.
Thought maybe if I transferred to another team things would get better. Boy was I wrong! Talk about jumping from a hot pan into the fryer. Started out great at first. Unfortunately manager was driven out by the director and was replaced with an absolute disgrace poser as a manager. The person had no clue on not only how to do their job nevertheless be a manager and what gets me they didn't want to learn about the team they were managing. They were so busy with their nose up the directors a–, had no idea what the team was doing or what issues were going on. They would tell lies to upper management on how the team was and the director was too stupid to figure it out. The director would task this manager assignments they would then pass the work down to the team, like they didn't already have enough work to do and once completed by the team, turn it into the director telling them they did the work not giving the team credit where credit was due. When the director didn't like the work, then they would blame the team.
Now this director is a black widow on all counts. Took me awhile to put the puzzle pieces together. The director would come up with c—amamie ideas and couldn't even communicate in a concise professional fashion on exactly what they were looking for. Instead it was a ramble fest of 15 different things using buzz words that had nothing to do with each other. Of course when people would question their ideas, they didn't like it and would set out to get them fired. Then they would ask 5 different people to do the same insane task that provided no value at all and was a complete waste of time all while paying customers would be escalating and having a really bad customer experience but these people could give a rats a–. After the 5 people would submit their work, the director would take the best out of the 5. At first it would start out that they are giving you an opportunity to show us what you got but soon you realize the task at hand was a setup for failure and the director and manager knew it. It was horrible. I watched the director and the manager take a coworker down for no reason and unfortunately because I wasn't a robot "Yes" person I was next.
