Another great decision by JES. After ranking 65 on a major livability ranking of U.S. cities last year, metropolitan Milwaukee dropped out of the top 100 entirely.

i hear MKE's friendly natives managed to rob at least 2 groups of reps at gunpoint following the big ol country show tuesday.
Things have gotten so bad in Milwaukee that even the police chief is trying to get a new job outside of the city.
Only 11 people injured in shootings this past weekend. NBD
Saying it’d cost half as much to tear down and build a new building seems unfounded. Don’t you think they would’ve done that if it was the case? It’s true though that this is a JES ego/legacy project, the North Bldg could’ve been refreshed in a number of less costly ways with good results instead of tearing it down to the studs.
Can you provide a link to the story? The East building had facade issues, I never heard of anything at the North building.
@Iyrm+1sFO0AUi It was in the Journal Sentinel.
I don’t see any record of code violations online, and that building would be inspected every year. Facilities does not hesitate to lavish money on the campus, it’s well maintained. It’s just an ego/legacy project. It would cost about half as much to build a new building of the same size. The fact that they are dropping more than double that to renovate (not expand) it, without employee input, proves it’s a massive boondoggle.
@Effh+1sFO0AUi The North building resurface is actually a result of mismanagement of the facility over the years. Building inspectors finally paid North a visit in 2019 and found tons of code violations, and NM felt it was better to just rebuild than to fix them. The construction was supposed to start much sooner but was delayed by the pandemic.
LOL at the comments about the company plane. It’s just another perk for our brilliant CEO. He uses the company plane for everything except business—showing it off to his rich friends, taking family vacations, and leisure under the guise of managing NM.
He doesn’t deserve it. The company is constantly talking about cutting expenses, SLT isn’t giving up any of their perks. Perks like these should be the first to go.
It's all about JES’s legacy. What’s even more upsetting and indicative of the NM’s culture—is that the entire SLT and the Board approved this terrible idea without any pushback. People are afraid to speak their minds because their jobs are on the line if they dissent.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the North building, it is barely over 30 years old. Meanwhile, my boss claims there's no budget for raises or cost of living adjustments, yet the company is undertaking this completely unnecessary multimillion-dollar remodel. And the circus continues.
Our product organization has seasoned former product managers from Kohl's. While their knowledge of the insurance industry may be limited, they do possess extensive expertise in apparel branding. Now NM can make use of these product managers skillset to introduce a new line of winter garments business at the suburb campus.
Bye bye Franklin! So glad it will all be in Milwaukee! Great for the city and company. Replace the old burb office with some new strip malls and fast food restaurants.
The company is now offering commuter pre-tax plans for up to $300 per month. Does anyone in leadership think we have an extra $300 to spend on parking per month? What kind of salary do they think we are getting? The 0.01% raises aren't cutting it. Employees don't want to work at home because we want to, it is because we have to. It's all we can afford.
Aditi's departure was announced internally and takes effect at the end of June. She is finally outta here.
What makes you think Aditi is gone? The corporate web site still lists her as being on the executive team. I wish it were true though, I never understood what qualified her for her position.
Where to Europe?
Did anyone notice Aditi is gone?
There's no shortage of funds. They can pay for the remodel, an airplane, a hanger, 401k match, and a trip to Europe with less than two weeks of revenue.
Now we know where the 401K match went. New airplane hangar in 2016, new company jet 2018, now need new glass office building in Europe.
Tracking the plane he’s in Europe, N302ML is the tail number - https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a327de
This is public information.
JES is too busy with his pride stuff and not focusing on the business. Trying to appease the 0.00000001% of the population while the other 99.99999999% crashes and burns. This guy needs to go early.
No comment from the mothership about the mu---r that took place in their backyard? Stay safe around the NM campus grasshoppers.
Hope your <1% raise has kept up with Milwaukee living expenses.
