i talked to a friend that knows the finances well
carousel is in big trouble more than 70 million in debt
they owe that by the end of 2019
the only way they get out of debt is to make the company look profitable to sell it
everything he has told me has come true layoffs firings you name it
jim and jeff will cut costs to make it look proftibale and sell
more layoffs this year closing the albany office and other small offices
they will sell anything to get revenue up

I also heard he is in the process of replacing his entire management team because of all the bad reviews he gets on these websites.

well everyone here is round 2 looking at the last post.
Well, I got laid off from my contract job. Boss told me 10% of the employees were laid off and there's nothing she can do. So, Jeff be lying.
I've never worked at a company with this many directors , managers , supervisors , specialists , Vice Presidents , presidents etc
It's almost like the titles are just given to stoke the egos of the people that kiss Jeff and Jims a-- the most.
I mean how important is it to be a VP here when there is like 50 of them lol
I'm convinced that only 30% of this company does actual real work here.
Wow! Very sad. Hopefully upper management down through lower management levels will be hit hard with layoffs at their Dallas office, as well. There are LOTS of chiefs and not enough Indians in that office. I used to work at Source, Inc., one of the companies Carousel just acquired and hopefully higher ups at Carousel will take a look at trimming A LOT of "fat" in Dallas.
jeff has and will screw family and friends to keep making more and more money
Jeff has been a pathological liar through the existence of carousel even going back to the early days. He promises the world then will cut you off at the knees all with a nice smile. He really wants carousel to be just him. He makes deals with employees then turns on you . Get nervous if you are befriended by him as an employee. It means head got his tentacles on you and will s--- you dry.
He paints himself as an easy going get along type CEO but he is nothing of the sort.
Just ask the countless lives of people he has ruined who gave everything to grow this company

if you don't know, work hard play hard means service works hard to make the company money so sales can play hard
folks 2 months ago Avaya had not declared bankrupt. That said the acquisition and the Avaya issue was the perfect storm for the need to reduce headcount. Simple math and unfortunate.

I can confirm that BT is discussing force reduction plans with JM and JJ. He has an Excel list on his laptop. Now is the time to s--- up to BT. He is very insecure and removes people that are smarter than he is and that dont agree with every word he says

I agree that Bill is a real douche. My brother-in-law knew him at BT. He was not nearly as important there as he leads people to believe. He wasn't even BT he was part of an aquisition and was a douche there too. Everyone was happy when he got fired there. Let's hope he is on the way out here too so I don't have to listen to his BS anymore.

Avaya filing for bankruptcy is not surprising
Business phone systems are are about as necessary as fax machines today . Their call centers are the only thing keeping them afloat and I read they can't find a buyer

I don't see how carousel isn't going to be getting rid of people . My advice for anyone who wants to stay in the telecom industry is to get trained on Cisco products . It's a superior product and are running rings around avaya.

Lol at people who believe they are not doing layoffs. Look at how many people were let go or "retired" or quit last year. Good rule of thumb to stay at carousel, s--- up to your boss, become friends with the inner circle that will never be fired, make good money but not too much money or else they will fire you instead of paying it out.

One thing I know for a fact is carousel hates giving raises and don't appreciate long term employees
They would rather see you go and pay 2 people half your salary . There is no union here. Their goal is high turnout to keep salaries low. No offense but it's not like the jobs here are that hard
Most of them a monkey could do. Just remember if your pushing 5 or 6 years you may become a target if you don't keep up the a-- kissing . Hr dept and the VPs know exactly what people earn. Unless your in sales don't think your going to be pulling down 6 figures here . More than likely you'll be shown the door soon .
This way they can bring in a new crop who will give them glorious reviews out of naitivity and who easily believe the lies told here by management
1.2 million is a pretty big number. With that amount of people out of a job their unemployment insurance is going to go up A LOT. If they are that worried about payroll, and think its temporary they should try furloughs that way they don't loose good employees that would never come back if they were cut. Not sure if anyone knows, but the IT industry is currently an employees market. There are not enough qualified IT people to fill the amount of IT positions.

KRJ9EFf-4wnr thanks for explaining it a little better. I have read the Avaya page on this site, and unfortunately Avaya is going to fold if you ask me. I do feel bad for all the people on the Avaya side of our company. As far as buying the two other companies we all have been told its "about growing the pie". I completely agree our company is extremely top heavy. We need more Indians, and less chiefs.
Go read the Avaya forum on this website. Carousel has been a "me-too" following Avaya's footsteps for as long as I've been here. When Avaya is up, we have been up. Avaya is looking at massive layoffs and is being secretive about them. No surprise the same is happening here again.
If you dont believe that then just look at our numbers. This is the first year ever that revenue is down not up. Remember that the cost of labor rises every year. So less money came in but the cost of running the shop went up due to salary increases, higher average cost of labor for new employees and general cost increases in supply chain like subcontractors. That alone would be enough to cause layoffs.
now factors in not one but two aquiisitions this year. you don't buy a company without believing the combination of the two can be more profitable than each on their own. That means reducing costs and cutting labor. how many HR, finance, warehouse and even sales people do we need for all three companies? The answer has to be less than we have.
count the number of directors, vp's, sr sp's and now "executive" vp (what a joke). Compare that number to any other company out there. we have such a top heavy organization that is has to tip over.
but you can believe the feel-good ceo when he tells you there won't be layoffs if you want to. there is plenty of room in the sand.
