Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Hiring freeze

Is there a hiring freeze or will roles be filled where the employee has simply resigned ?

Very true but given up any integrity from commscope management to do the right thing by their employees.
It's all "yes" managers .they don't dare push back up the chain in case they next in line for the chop.
It's a soul less place

Very good and to anyone else here reading this...

Just because your manager is trying to offload additional tasks onto you, that does not mean it is the right thing for them to do.

The trick is you must avoid taking on extra work when someone leaves. Then you’ll get your placement

When a team member left on his own, my manager tried to pawn their tasks to me. I simply refused (cause I’m not paid two salaries and I’m underpaid AF) I kept to push back on work and next thing I know, a replacement was on their way.

Eventually, my manager appealed to senior management for a replacement, and we got one.

Do you really believe there is common sense in executive leadership at CommScope?

So what happens when so understaffed to the point that everyday work just cannot run smoothly?

Surely common sense needs to take over and they rehire for person who left of own accord ( not a layoff).
Seriously the company are running people into the ground with this non reactive ,head in the sand attitude.

I've seen this happen as well and before leaving the place. You could have someone in the office one day doing a job and sending them to work shopfloor the next. This would be after some shopfloor layoffs, then as there wasn't enough work for them in office, they'd go shopfloor.

Also seen it with someone who left an essential office based job, then taken by someone else from in the office as soon as they left, and no experience in that position but they were handed it in the interim anyway.

When someone leaves, managers trade in the vacant position the next time there is a headcount reduction demand (frequent) from above. You effectively trade in the now vacant position to avoid having to lay someone else off.

No, they are on holiday until then, on the CommScope ship. You'll see when they're on camera with a tan.

Sounds about right. No contract, zero hours, may need you tomorrow but not today, not sure yet about the next day but will let you know with zero notice.

When someone resigns, I think the plan is to not replace them but simply give their salary to Chuck to make sure he stays at market and remains motivated....lol.

the more worrying is the perception from the market that CommScope will not be around this time next year. Customers are NOT willing to invest in CommScope for fear of being hung out- The natural thing is for customers to purchase elsewhere - The notion of 'the market will come back" hummmmm! well it may do but our share will be much diminished

Ask yourself, Why would anyone want to work at comm?ñ, if they can barely make people stay!

Why would they hire someone and soon to be laid off again with severance.

Right now it’s almost impossible to even backfill positions, unless you are Ruckus. They are the golden child for some reason.

Hiring freeze- more like a “communication freeze” - next time you hear from chuck and Kyle will be Q2 results - until then they will stay in their bunker , flack jackets on
