"Yeah they'd rather throw 3 people making $75k"
I hope you're not in a leadership position, as the answer to this statement can be found in standard literature on quality and productivity. If you're in the technology field, it's covered in the initial chapters of 'Clean Code'
I wish I made $75k
I don't ever remember getting 9 girls pregnant and then getting a baby in a month. That mentality doesn't work.
Yeah they'd rather throw 3 people making $75k on something than one person at $150k.
Fidelity has chosen the ideology that more bodies thrown at a task makes it happen quicker.
Problem are:
They let go too many senior level ppl during the VBOs
Those people were replaced with new hires new to the business.
Majority of new hires are junior level with little or no experience.
Recruiting process is poor.
Yet another huge influx of onshore and offshore foreign talent willing to work cheap, but lack the skillsets and knowledge required.
Lower management lacking the technical knowledge required to lead.
@9mcf+1lOSrveh Nobody knew what they were doing when they were in the office either
India teams require constant babysitting
we took qa automation from India because they weren't getting it done. They're not in an office and nobody knows what they're really doing. Its sort of the wild, wild west now.
''' USA - Principal Software Engineer - base salary - $140,000
India - in US dollars - $30,000 '''
Is that the reason why every Engineer in India seems to have the title Principal Engineer :D
I’m ashamed to say I’ve been doing far too much above and beyond my role for too long, all for fraction of inflation raises. Then get slap-in-the-face comments if I give any feedback ever. Time to try to get out of this position or place. Too much manipulation.
Honestly. Systems have been breaking left and right, things are just unreliable and clients are beginning to notice. Pay top dollar for the top people, we have the money to do it.
140k is dirt cheap for principal level. If that's all your getting, you're getting cheated. Time to move on.
Absolutely, and people always talk about about high paying positions or software engineers and management on this forum, but some of us with other things are severely underpaid (and are always doing tons of extra stuff that’s not our job as well).
USA - Principal Software Engineer - base salary - $140,000
India - in US dollars - $30,000
Brain drain of US talent for India “talent”.
It’s all a game of numbers, if one can inflate their skill set, say yes to every question asked, and reside in India - they get the job.
