Thread regarding ADP layoffs

ADP was great to work for when I first started 14 years ago.

It slowly became more and more of a drag on morale as we cycled through one after another managers, directors and VPs.

The last of which were only focused on themselves and the choir of supplicants that sang the same tune. Alas I got tired of hearing it all. I was rather surprised when my director and an HR person scheduled a meeting to let me know my services were no longer needed.

No warning whatsoever just a thank you and a well wishes to not let the door hit me on the way out.

I guess that’s why they don’t have as people with more than 3 years tenure.

@8yb

I doubt I’m the only one hoping and praying for a VERP.

Yeah, they seem to like the stealth mode. My meeting was simply put on my calendar.
I'm waiting for the next major purge as it is almost 8 years since the VRP that took out many of those that were age 55 and older. So, if they can save money on PTO again, expect them to do so.

ADP was certainly a better place to work years ago. But not anymore.

Jobs are not entitlement and can be terminated at any given time. We are glad you are gone so good riddance and stay away.

Sorry you had to go through that. That is what happened to me too and others a few years ago. And it continues to happen. A layin' off place. But I don't blame ADP. They can run their company any way that they want. Corporate life. One day here, next day gone, no matter the performance. Just business as usual.

I was fortunate to be able to retire after my layoff and had a soft landing. Maybe that is why I'm not bitter. However, I don't think I would have been bitter even if I couldn't retire and had to find another job at that point.

So that's life. But you're right, ADP was becoming a worse and worse place to work. Another reason I don't regret being laid off. I wish you well in your future endeavors.
