Having worked for WW for over 30 years, I’m saddened to see where this company is headed. Top management needs to reacquaint themselves with what the pillars of Weight Watchers is really are. Let’s get back to what our members want and that is weight lose.

Wow I’m so glad this is here! Happened to me and I’ve not talked to anyone except the other guide it happened to. I’m just mind blown there were 4000 people I had no idea. I’d been there 5 years as receptionist/guide. I loved it and had lost 50 lbs when I was recruited. It was a second job for me but I so loved meeting, connecting And helping members. Yes it was an awful way to let us go then tell us to go to the website to look for jobs. I’ve always thought they were very top heavy in corporate. I’m sorry for all of us. As the news gets out we can only hope that the Ww members start to see this cold hearted company fir what it is. You are only a membership to them . Mindy Grossman is a moneymaker period. Our members have hearts and souls and they are better than this and deserve better. To the woman who stands with us kudos to you for writing to Mindy! It is much appreciated. Hopefully more and more people will get the jest of what Ww is and back awsy!!! Many more programs out there folks. Some may even think you matter!!
We did not get paid if we did not work. SO what was the urgency to get rid of all of us in 5 minutes? There is tons of product wasting away in closed centers. The At work program has basically been destroyed beyond recognition. I worked for over 14 yrs. So much instruction on how to be kind, sympathetic, understanding and show empathy for the members. We were paid less than min wage. Staying way after a meeting yes meeting closed to help members with the app. Favoritism beyond belief. And always hiring people even when there were not openings. I never understood that waste. Every one I knew would take on extra meetings. 75% were part time and not eligible for benefits and yet we loved the members and our jobs and stayed.
I’m a long time WW member. I saw the HuffPost article this morning about the Zoom layoffs. I’ve found additional articles on USA Today, The Daily Mail, and on AOL. So, it is getting out there. I wrote to Mindy Grossman this morning via Customer Service because Connect would not give me a mailing address. Someone in management is going to call me within 48 hours. I also posted on Connect to support all of you. I told Ms. Grossman I will not watch the new Oprah thing in protest of your Zoom firings. I told her it was brutal to treat long-term employees that way. I also said that I don’t know how she can justify paying Oprah, the billionaire, The Rock, Kate Hudson, Daphne Oz, etc. when they have let thousands of you go!!! We are #bettertogether with all of you! I am so sorry this has happened. I do think once more members find out, Ms. Grossman will have to address the membership. The mass Zoom firing is inexcusable for a company who prides themselves in wellness, which includes anxiety, which I’m sure many of you are suffering.

That article came out last Friday and it says nothing about the heinous way they fired us . This is coming from Mindy Grossman. Makes ww sound great. We the fired employees need to be heard. I think we have all heard enough of her comments that make them come out of it smelling like a rose. We have a different story and we have a right to know how they chose us and not other people . It’s been a week now and The awful way they fired us is still stinging me!!

The only person I know of who is NOT afraid of Oprah is author Kitty Kelley. She is the author of several best-selling unauthorized biographies of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Reagan, the British Royal Family, the Bush family, and Oprah Winfrey. Her Oprah biography was great and very scathing and really exposes Oprah for the phony control-freak she actually is. Wonder how we can get in touch with Kitty Kelley. Any ideas?

I sent an email to a Cbus OH columnist about the firing even attaching the blog - since earlier blogs mentioned no media attention at all!!! Esp in NYC I did it because he had mentioned being a member in his columns in the past couple years - I implied that he could be breaking a story - sent it 5/19 and no word yet...i'll try other local media outlets
Hats off to those canceling their memberships in support of the fired employees. I will will still follow the plan and lose weight. If enough of us do this WW horrible company will feel the impact.
Oprah is a huge phony! She only does what makes her look good. At this point we can all encourage people we know to never give them they’re money. There are many competitive programs online for less money! Oprah could care less about what happened to us. The way we were fired is heinous. I will never reccomend ww to anyone! They are all about the money could care less about the humans!
Wow, Oprah is on the news talking about donating millions of dollars to 4 cities that she has lived in to help the help and welfare of the citizens struggling with joblessness. Meanwhile 6 days ago she just fired thousands of long time employees from her own company and offered them NO HELP with their joblessness. WHAT A HYPOCRITE OPRAH IS!!
WW has no care for employees. Did a mass lay off by a call and everyone was muted and not allowed any questions. Person doing the call didn’t even introduce themselves and then hung up at the end without anything. Cold and insensitive. Was with them for 7 years and this is how they treat you. I understand business need but no explanation or why you were picked. People still employed aren’t allowed to ask questions and still have no idea what’s going on. Tons of locations will not open. Mainly any not at an actual store. They olay family card only to benefit themselves.
I was a 12+ year employee in many roles: receptionist (later changed to “guide”...how much $ did THAT cost the company?), open hours staff, trainer, location coordinator for two locations. I LOVED my job. I feel I helped bring health and happiness to countless members. People I trained still have their jobs (after working only a year or so). Loyalty? Means nothing to “WW” (another COSTLY change because members still call it WEIGHT WATCHERS). Very sad. I’m bitter.
There had to be one person in the media who isn’t afraid of Oprah. We have to suffer because of her power? Where is the justice in this ? We are people who worked hard for many years that’s got to mean something. It’s a sad state of affairs this country is in. Makes me even more depressed!
Please, you people are so naive. Oprah OWNS the media. She will never let any of them tell the true story. She will come out smelling like a rose. So will Mindy, people with money and power always do. Mindy ran her last company into the ground and is going to do the same thing to WW but no one will see it until it is done. No one cares about the little people. Give it up now and spend your time on something you can actually accomplish.
In my humble opinion, and very sadly, I think that our plight will go nowhere. Oprah is too powerful and the media will not expose her or Mindy for their heinous behavior. The only way that Oprah and Mindy will get their due is if members leave WW in droves, Unfortunately, that is the sad truth that I foresee as the only way they will pay for what they did to a wonderful company and its loyal employees who were royally screwed over. The only saving grace is that there are so many free APPS and points counters that are free online. We need to migrate to them and cancel our WW memberships. It will only hurt WW if they lose memberships (money) big time. We can't hope that the media will help us because they have Oprah's back and will never back the little guy and gal against her. It is a sad fact, but true.
I really hope the news media will get involved and exposed this heartless company for what it really is!!!

Don't expect all the meetings to reopen when this is over. WW is looking to "reduce their real estate footprint" per their press release Friday. 4000 fewer employees = how many fewer meetings? Likely going to be many disappointed members when their meetings never reopen.
This is a pandemic but why keep us and have us work so hard to scramble to make the zoom meeting successful? We work through the whole pandemic and just as they are talking about reopening some studios they throw us away? Who will work in those meetings?if it’s a question of finances why hire a high priced person as an ambassador? Members like the real people who they can form a connection with. The famous have never made people feel connected they don’t see them in a studio. Bottom line we worked hard and we were thrown away just like the trash!
