Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Post Your Funny Memories That Helped Ruin The Company

Here's a few to get things started:

  • When they outsourced the field overnight, going from professional installers, dressed in company issued uniforms, driving nice branded vehicles........to contractors that barely know how to speak, look like they haven't showered in weeks, driving dented 1980's minivans with bungy cord ladders on top.
  • When HR launched a program where "Talented" "Young" "No Experience" people from Ivy League Schools would come to the company, rotate from department to department, and eventually turn the company into Apple or Amazon....all while freezing employees salaries, demoting people's titles, and laying people off.

Remember when they hired a middle manager from Comcast to be the CEO? He yelled and screamed "we will make the budget" and hired all his friends from Comcast? Very strategic...

Do you remember the infamous billing migration...when they switched billing platforms for the SDL customers and a huge part of the customer base was paralyzed from making changes on their accounts, paying their bills, etc? There were lines and police at the retail stores because a depleted customer service couldn't handle the calls? Another amazing decision! And how about changing the call center technology from the vendor that is an expert in call center technology to the vendor that is not. That was a doozy!

Remember when they allowed News 12 to be viewed on FiOS? They ruined the company...but customers would still stay with Optimum just for their News 12....and they took a few bucks and gave up that competitive advantage. Another huge blunder!

Post ID: @8rbp+1uz0ingz That’s when everyone realized not only do they not know anything about the CATV/Broadband industry but they have no business sense of any kind. Everything, everything these people touch turns to $hit almost overnight. PD bought the art gallery and now it’s in deep financial trouble. AUSA has been in trouble since day one. There is no end to the things these people can’t totally wreak.

Remember when they sold 49% of Lightpath and received $1.6B from Morgan Stanley and used all that money to buy back Altice USA shares at $30 per share? LOL! Literally lit the money on fire and lost all of it...

Getting rid of hundreds or thousands of years worth of experience. Literally PAYING some of the smartest people in the industry to leave when they offered those VRP packages in the beginning. I mean how stupid are you when you pay the top talent in an industry NOT TO WORK FOR YOU? I mean that is stupid on a level I never knew existed.
