Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Abortion ruling

Any Shell comment ? Surely good reason to reiterate support for employee rights on reproductive care and explore plans to move out of the state of Texas in the long run . Not an OIl and Gas company anyways anymore .....

Uh, other than retail and pipeline (which I'm sure is on the chopping block), hasn't Shell largely already exited Texas?

Plane ticket and abortion likely less expensive than paying for birthing and infant medical care so good business.

The bag of rocks IQ question has been answered:

Shell said it was updating its "national healthcare options to ensure access to a broad range of medical services, including those that require travel".

Ben just stated they will help with travel costs to access healthcare for women. Is this specific to abortion? Does this mean Shell supports abortion? As a male employee will Shell pay for me to travel for healthcare?

Shell, and Gretchen would be d-mber than a sack of hammers if they took a position in this one at all.

Maybe I’m wrong and the will take a position, but not wise.

and then like with Russia, cut secret deals, pocket the cash, apologize profusely.

So what's Shell's next move? Just try to imagine what a sniveling, duplicitous weasel would do. Then wait for the press to find out.

"Shell should show a little respect for the states in which they do business and the people who live in them."

Shell should stand by their values and for basic human rights as is expected by their shareholders no matter what majority/minority position there is on these values and human rights in any given country or state ..... Like is the case with Russia they should consider divesting from countries/states that do not uphold these values and basic human rights ......

This is about human rights not political debate .....

Completely disagree with this premise. Shell should show a little respect for the states in which they do business and the people who live in them. They definitely don't need to be taking sides on this kind of a political debate.

Whatever Gretchen does, it will be on the backs of her employees. She just doesn't want to roll it out as stupidly as that inflation email. Somebody needs to read her words before they go out.

It's been crickets from Gretchen ...... Basic human rights are taken away by a bunch of unelected radical evangelicals ....

With an HR army why hasn't Shell figured out how to employ remote workers out-of-state?

Then we would also have to stop investing in Quebec.

Moving out of Texas would be a great message for the leadership of this state.
