Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Interview at Hertz

Have an interview coming up with Hertz for a management position. What's life and morale like on the ground level? Is there a chance that they will make it through this at least at the airport level? Do management level employees still get company vehicles even with the spending cuts? Just wondering if this is even worth my time...

I am sure they ahev asked employees to post positve reviews on Glassdoor. It was done a while back. Most recently they had all employees "voluntarily" post in social media how hertz is going to come out on top again. #hertzstrong, #drivingfoward.........Yes this is the plan to save the company

Glassdoor are now editing the reviews, so the worst (and truthful!) ones have now been deleted.
Have a look - try to filter by date - you can’t any more, and there are now very few reviews in 2020!
Then filter by “lowest rating” and 5 star reviews come up. Totally misleading and shameful. Disgusting.

Consistently ranked one of the worst companies to work. It's a dumpster fire. Why would anyone want to work there unless they are just stuck.

The cash cow will be dying at any moment.
Accept the job If you like to live in fear of your paycheck bouncing ?
It is also a great place to be overworked. You can also look forward to one of the favorites getting recognized and promoted over you.

Run and run fast. You don’t want to work for this company. I worked for the company for over 5 years and was laid off due to the pandemic in April. They asked me a few weeks ago if I would be interested in returning and I said HELL NO!

I just went back to work and out of 22 of us, they are only hiring 9 back. Most of the employee either got other jobs or too afraid to come back due to covid so we did have to hire 1 new person. No one knows the future of hertz eventhough it doesnt look good right now but anything can happen, I would just go on the interview and ask questions. All the car rental companies are not doing good right now..Fox just capped commission at 5%, Enterprise, which owns natl/alamo will now be making them just salary and no commission and finally Avis is cutting their max commission to 6% for all of their brands, this is all to stay afloat until the travel industry comes back.

This will be a massive waste of your time. The have laid off hundreds of experienced managers just ask yourself why are they hiring a green person from outside the company who they will have to train from scratch when they have some many experienced managers on the sidelines?

Go hunt elsewhere.
You'll save yourself time.
Hertz is toxic and will collapse.
Knowing the Titanic will sink, would you apply for a position in the ship?
The choice is yours now.

Don't do it unless you desperately need a job and this is your extreme last resort before homelessness. This company isn't worth getting a job at anymore unless you are actually facing extreme dire times
