Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

When are the GE Aviation layoffs starting? Was supposed to be mid-June per D. Joyce?

Hello to everyone, posted on the GE main thread also. Just trying to verify if the June 17-18 dates that were "unofficially" posted are still valid? Thanks to all for your assistance!

Layoffs need to be made closer to the earnings call, the company is in such bad shape that share holders have to be given some glimmer of hope, and layoffs are the companies answer.

Might be more layoffs down the road. Boeing has issues with the 777X along with the 737MAX according to a whistleblower.

Change your HR profile to have you as G–/Lesbian and also American Indian or something. This doesnt change your benefits etc.

Totally agree on GE’s poor communication on what matters most to employees and boasting about junk leadership updates. Perhaps they needed time to save their backs by ensuring to fund for junkies working on trash programs like engines modernization. Centerpiece projects, iprocurement, clarity all delivered but JUNK still big heads are ready to expand yet another release 1D and let go hard working engineering folks like us who are backbone for GE

Maybe pushed out a week for HR, Legal, Compliance and whatever BS department to review the list to make sure they don't offend any BLM supporters and damage their diversity quotas.

Executives scramble and spend extra effort to provide a response for current events in US, but drag their feet on notifying employees about their future? Shame on HR too.

It was originally supposed to be June 17th and 18th. They've said that in the all-hands meetings. However, rumors started circulating that it has been pushed out by a week, but not officially relayed. On matters of importance, GE is very poor on communication, but they are top notch when it relates to junk stuff like diversity and inclusion e-mails, etc., which are typically exercises in show-boating by senior and upper management to futher their own career pusuits.

GE has long left the business of core engineering. Most real engineering is done at suppliers, outside contractors and at GE locations outside the US. Most work done at US locations is powerpoint engineering and useless meetings that eat up program dollars faster than Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

Does it matter for the delay. Longer they wait the better. I think about 15 is the number for DTD aviation.

Anyone knows why it was pushed out, what else are they looking for?

The 17th and 18th sound about right. But i am sure it will be in June as head of aviation HR indicated today at DTD all hands.
