Nike weathers the storm

Nikes plan is working. Get rid of some managers. MP will apologize. Put in some training etc. it will blow over. Promote a few people.

Ok now people nothing to see here grab some kool aid and get back to work or working out. Hr and ER keep an eye out for any problems or if people are complaining. Maybe we should do another survey?

Same old stuff going on and so many in managers positions adding no value. Stock holders should be mad because of so much waste in the company.

Nike played it correctly. No one is talking and very little has changed and the beat goes on. So much waste and over paid do littles.

“Fear, cronyism and personality over substance”. Exactly. I’d add the ability and willingness to manage up (i.e. - kiss a$$ and be a yes-man or woman) as the #1 predictor of promotion.

It’s more of the same. If the stock was in the toilet maybe we would see more action. I was told taht roughly a 1000 hotline cases were closed with no action. One Sr. Director in a geo had over 10 complaints (confirmed with my spy) logged against him, guess what he still has a job.

The #metoo movement is now attached to Nike as much as child labor was attached to it back in the 1980”s. Mark Parker took his eye off the ball from 2015-2018 and his power mad corrupt lieutenants led Nike down a dark path. A few of those leaders have been picked off, but 10x remain. Also the culture of fear, cronyism, and personality over substance remains. This problem has permeated not only the FTEs here, but the product too. It will take years and years to recover. Of the hundreds of people I know here, I know of less than 5 that are happy. That type of atmosphere doesn’t turn around with a short investigation and housecleaning. Trust must be regained and that is a difficult thing to win back after its lost. The bullies have recessed behind the corporate talking points, but they still maneuver in the dark.

Give more details or shut up. Even Pixar and Disney let John Lasseter go, but only after specific stories were published instead of vague rumours.
