Focus on the real problem

The recent layoff did some cleaning at the bottom but the directors that are the real hidden problem remain. It makes for a environment that is quite toxic and based on games. HR fosters that environment and we have a truly bad reputation in the market especially software. Less in hardware.

This is so true. We have so many useless managers and directors but they're never subject to layoffs. It's always us. Nothing will change until that's been dealt with.

You are so spot on. Security (and ADI) are the source of all ills. They are using drones and AI to spy on our work in software. We notice what we believe are small drones circling around the office and even around our homes. Our director in Austin has advised us to only use encrypted phones and never use whatapp and such.

Let’s face it. Senior “leadership” has been a revolving door for the past 20 years. Mostly people put in a bad position with no tools to work their way out. The head count of the folks in the trenches has naturally ebbed and flowed as you might expect. The population that has remained a constant in security is middle management. These are the people who have been compensated for creating silos. Territorial and insecure. They have created and fostered a toxic environment.
