Constant layoffs are the best indicator of an incompetent leader who has no idea what he's doing. When you fu-k up so bad that you have to lay off 14,000 people and even that is not enough, you need to know the problem is not with them but with you. Not that Musk would ever admit it, though. Narcissism is strong with that one.

Twitter's share value has dropped by 71% since Musk bought it and restructured it to X.
You can’t just claim he’s destroyed Twitter when it’s more active organically than ever before. Don’t let your bias and ignorance show that easily.
Instead of focusing on the real problem Elon is spreading hatred on Twitter. Blaming immigrants, woke agendas, everyone but himself.
Tesla keeps calling me even a week before this announcement -- they are hurting for talent on dojo hw.
I saw this train wreck a mile away and kindly keep them on the back burner with no plans to work for them/him unless I need a last resort job.
It's a job. They want the best?
But the reality is they can't get the best because the best aren't ignorant and aware of what's happening. You think we aren't paying attention and talking to colleagues. Only the jr engineers with no years of experience or network don't know better or what's happening.
Now it is around 20k employees have been axed. And
it is still on going ...
Henry Ford also had some odd quirks.
maybe it comes with being a fa$cist narcissist.
but he was also a great man. y'know.
Elon is a di-k. Just uses people and kicks them out no humanity or compassion for a man blessed with so much. He destroyed Twitter and the lives of 6K employees. It is now worth nothing. On top of that, he wants over 50 billion in salary. Just shows his narcissistic idea. His kids despise him. Tesla has innovation but if you have a choice why would you work for this jerk
Layoffs are part of the natural business cycle. As the company grows a side effect is empire building and irrational exuberance. Money flowing in budgets get out of whack and too many spinning plates to pay attention. Then the spigot of money goes from a firehose volume down to something less and like magic the drunk of the peak of the current up cycle goes poof. Then the look of every area commences and no stone left unturned. As--s who is still on the same page for company vision and those that are out synch must go in the leadership level. Then the kn--e hits on down the line. People are always the first to go in a downturn since the easiest and most liquid to make a change. The key is to take the opportunity of a down cycle to repoint. Smart money is Tesla will become a pseudo utility at some point since that would be consistent revenue stream. The other business line will be license technology to other manufactures of vehicles. Yup Tesla su-ks but hey why are they the only non Chinese company that can operate in China without being fully owned and controlled by that government. Too many allow their emotions to cloud logical decisions which they will find out is bad for business. Not many CEO would risk the entire fortune to keep a company alive like what was done in the early years of Tesla. Volume has tanked since nobody has disposable income for a vehicle they are trying to survive. Price point on all cars is way too high. Interest rates dropping not gonna solve that same for housing. EV only makes sense if in urban environment and have a backup of an ICE car
Musk is moving forward with his vision of Tesla. He will do what he has to do, even if it means laying off people. Layoff are healthy for companies.
@1axv+1sidkLJW Nope. Lot's of engineers, architects, designers want to work for Tesla even if it's for a few months. This is one of the most innovative and cutting edge companies that many folks are lined up to work for (even for free 24/7). And yes, you need to cut management and their team(s) if they don't produce the current goals or have the future vision to grow the company. When management thinks they can't be touched because they are the only ones who knows the product and how things work in the system, and yet, are out of touch with the future vision of the company, that's when you must cut management. This is why many corporations fail. A healthy company is one that has turnovers from bottom to the top executives. Growth of a company has many stages and each stage may require new management and employees. This is just the very early stages of Tesla as an innovative disruptive cutting-edge growth company. It's got many many miles to go and it's headed in the right direction. People don't like it because it does things that are out of the ordinary (going outside of the norm). But drastic measurements have to be taken when necessary.
Going forward, it's going to be difficult to retain, or hire good workers at Tesla.
