JU org lost 20+ employees from the VP and directors all the way down the ranks. Most were just waiting for it to happen.

Yeah weird. This incessant trawl of Dribble for millennial "design" talent in an age when even Amazon and IBM know that the best UI is no UI - it's all AI and API.
sUX.
Odd timing.
These UX layoffs make no sense.

This morning I am pondering whether the #UX for Oracle HCM is honestly this g-d awful, or if somehow my company has tweaked all of its settings to make it a miserable experience, because holy sh-- is it painful to use. #uxgripes
JU had 20 people to lay off? Unlikely.
Of course. It's much cheaper to get UX design in cheaper Asian and European countries and move the UX as a sales winner function to pre-sales. It's clear JL and HC were hired as part of an overall strategy to centralize UX jobs on-site in the US (Trumpism), let partners and design studios do any custom design, and to trendy up the place, startup-style to attract cheaper millennials and college grads.
Invest in all the trendy beanbags, electric scooters, murals, and t-shirts you want, Oracle is not a design company.
It's the usual layoff pattern - avoiding difficult diversity questions on gender, age, and race. Don't be fooled, this is calculated, taking into account Federal and State laws, and the social media optics.
Good UX sitting on top of poor technology can only fool people for so long.
I am surprised so many men and so few women were affected. Seems like someone should start asking some questions.
Well, who cares about our customers' user's experience anyway? If they want a better UX, they can go elsewhere.
Our own internal UX s---s. We only use this stuff because we have to.
