Thread regarding Paychex Inc. layoffs

Paychex Layoffs 2015

Working for such a big company has a set of good things but also that means that you are never secure in your job. As many people working here at Paychex, as many possibilities of layoffs, would not you agree. My group also have had some rounds of layoffs but somehow I managed to survive them all. We will see what 2015 Brings.

Paychex s---s. Huge lack of integrity in IT Operations, starting with the "Senior" Director as the biggest liar. The former Paetec people are protected and everyone else is a target. Managers let people go all the time now.

Sounds like the business operations management s---s too.

one year after the layoffs and reorganization, I can't say the dust has settled. The reorganization has caused issues that will always happen, but there is no communication these are being addressed. The workload has increased and precious time is lost navigating to find who and what you need - things are murky since the reorganization. I have been with Paychex for a number of years and can't say this is the same company I started working for back then. Happy employees still make happy clients, but Paychex is really focused on the bottom line these days and I feel it is effecting the service provided.

They have no respect for the employees who dedicated so much time and dedication only to be laid off

I hope people quit using their services and all the big wigs get the same karma they gave to the employees they laid off.

I worked for Paychex for 20 years and found out via a phone call while on vacation I was being laid off. No reason given, and based on past reviews and most recent performance evaluations was doing excellent. As I was told by my former manager.....months before this....the impressions people have about you are more important than what you really do. Well I guess that must be true....for instead of keeping someone who drove great employee engagement and someone who people liked working for and drove great results I should have been more focused on showing up late every day and leaving early if coming in at all ...for that is who you keep a job there.

Discipline. Hard work. Perseverance. (Conservative, perhaps). Growth through stability and reputation. HR, Accounting, Benefits, Debits, Credits....Ohh look Shiny thing!!!!!!!!! Forget (minimal) red tape! Do it figure out the consequences later........... <- Just an outsiders view of the new PaycheX

Paychex, which used to market itself to job seekers by saying "we've never had a layoff, is having them in 2015.

As in any company management will do what's best for the bottom line. Employees need to do what's best for them and there family. The company has for years highlighted we are family and did not have layoffs. Employees felt such loyalty they stayed with below par salaries because "Paychex never has layoffs". That has ended with the first round of layoffs in a very profitable company. It is clear that the service centers set up in area's with less expensive real estate and lower labor cost is where the company's moving. The Voice of the Customer has indicated local presence is not needed. Branches will continue to shrink and Regional service centers will expand. It makes business sense, not necessarily best for local employees.

Paychex used to be one of the best companies to work for until John Gibson arrived and started layoffs. My branch has stopped hiring and is hiring in a cheaper market. I am sure it's just a matter of time before the branch is closed probably in the next 5 years I bet
