@6umn+18k7ypmx....and might I add a book.... Emotional Intelligence 2.0....does not make for appropriate corporate "training" and preparation for a person or persons CLEARLY not suited for managing others. Fossil....Stop the favoritism game and stop putting people in roles simply to get rid of employees you personally do not like.

@6umn+18k7ypmx Well said I am so glad that someone shares the same sentiment I have expressed while a Fossil on numerous occasions. And it wasn't meant in a malicious manner, some who accept management roles simply just lack the ability to be in a role of that capacity....whether it be their lack of the knowledgebase that should have been one the determining factors or their ability to put personal feelings of insecurity and jealousy and display sound judgment as it relates TO THE JOB (which is sorelylacking in many of those lower level "managers" left there at Fossil)...which is also a major determining factor when "promoting" lower level employees to positions of junior management.
Future employers be cognizant and aware.

The company is finished. Look at our products. Train wreck. The jewelry is a mess. Traditional watches look like there’s no vision. It’s bad. Sort of like back in the day when we became a shoe company. Or a denim brand. Or a brick and mortar retailer. Bad management or vision is a long lasting problem from the top. Covid isn’t our only problem.

Agree with the last comment...designers go to school to be designers, teachers to be teachers, accountants to be accountants. Most managers do not go to school to become managers. They are most likely designers, accountants, teachers- but they get promoted. And most dont think 'do I have what it takes?' And sadly so do their managers. So this brings us to an unfortunate situation where you have people that are literally incapable and cant do the job well put into these positions all in the name of a raise/promotion/title change that do not belong. I can think of numerous people here that shouldn't be a manager....terrible people skills/managing conflict/communication and just not being available. So many of these threads complain about management. Yes it's a problem. And the company should TRULY invest the time it takes to find the right fit to manage rather than say 'hey, you've been here x time...you should be manager'. It doesn't fully translate.

@Rino, if you have never worked in that particular environment of Fossil, then your opinion is your opinion. However having worked there for a number of years I see no "victimhood" as you put it...but simply concerned albeit and frustrated employees and possibly ex employees who saw great potential in a once flourishing brand. There is a great issue with some of the management because simply, in my opinion some of them are not management material and have no business in leadership positions. And to that I'm speaking on lower level management.

Wow. There is so much victimhood on this board. Management could be a bit better, sure. BUT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? this is a company that sells quartz watches and cheap leather goods , has limited moat and was handed one of the worst turn of fortunes all happening at the same time, from malls dying to smartwatches shifting massively demand in the US. You are not happy, have a better solution, think that Fossil can at once turn itself into Apple? Then go and good luck! If you stay all you should worry about is help saving the ship from troubled water.

Considering there is a huge downsizing of the dallas office space happening currently, with absolutley no explanation, there is the possibility that fossil will be no more. Would be cool for some kind of open conversation from the higher ups but seriously doubt that will happen. They are so disconnected from all of the employees and I dont get the feeling that they actually care how their lack of communication effects us.

The same "Fossil's Annual Layoff" they've had for the past 8+ years! 🤪

Management could be better. Maybe, maybe not. The question is. What's being done to ensure shareholders value and Fossil is a going concern. I empathize with all that have lost jobs but we know 98% of this crisis is unrelated to management.

More layoffs and same bullsh*t as always.

Many people got laid off yesterday at HK office, replacing most of the positions in India.

The townhall was a waste of time, the company is not going to last having current management running the business.
