Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

Does Intrado pay out unused vacation days?

Trying to get out fast and have a good chunk of sick/vacation days left (mostly thanks to rollover time from the original company acquired by Intrado)

Want to gtfo and actively job searching but wondering if they actually pay out the time or I should try to postpone a new start date and take all I can before giving notice

You don't accumulate PTO; you have sick time & vacation time. In the handbook it says depending on your state laws, you might get paid your accumulated vacation time (I got paid 160 hours to leave Intrado) you will lose your sick time, so use as much as you can.

They transitioned from official PTO so they don't legally have to pay accrued vacation time. HTH!

OP here, just want to clarify to all the people here with the 'ride the wave/you're the problem' commentary

I worked for another company. That company sold to Intrado. I did not choose Intrado and don't know how it works. As I job search a friend had simply mentioned that companies pay out unused PTO which I did not know, and I couldn't find an Intrado-specific answer. Just thought that people commenting on here that they'd left might know from direct recent experience.

Man, some of y'all really go off on this page, makes you wonder if that's HR/Management trolling like the planted glassdoor reviews :p

thanks to everyone with actionable answers

@6tsy+1cvAzzWo good looks! My boss wouldn't know, they came in via acquisition with me and none of us have been able to figure out HR. I was wary of outright asking HR and raising any flags with regular layoffs and all but I suppose it's worth a shot while I'm actively interviewing

Although not a very employee friendly company, I appreciate all that I have learned and the fantastic people I work with at Intrado. Everyone I work with is great and all of them are smarter than I.

All companies have various issues, you just have to weigh the pros and cons and make your own decision.

No, this company is not the same. I am totally with this
Person and igtfo. This company has gone downhill so fast and spiraling out of control. I worked for Intrado for a long time, and I have never seen Intrado ever hit rock bottom as I have seen right now. Good luck to you riding Intrado wave, because you will be at the bottom with the rest of the crew.

I don't know who posted that rude comment but you can create a ticket for HR to get back to you & they should be able to answer your question. If you don't know how, just ask your boss. they should know! hope this helps.

Wow man. Rough day? I don’t know because intrado recently acquired the company I work for. Policy in 1 state might not be enforced by a corporation in another state. I am actively job searching and a friend brought this up. Google had no answer but it had this website.

Just leave. Why torture yourself and why don’t you know the pto policy or your state policy? You are part of the Intrado problem. People sitting around doing nothing complaining, whining, feeling sorry, talking about “it’s not the same.” There must be a reason you are still here. It’s time to analyze your life and your life choices. If you were that valuable another company would have snatched you up already. I have a few guesses of why you are still sitting here.

depends what your state laws are. In NE they pay your vacation they do not pay out your sick time.
