Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Home office

Did anyone just stop respecting home/office rules? While at the beginning I tried to respect rule. Now i just cannot seem to care… if they want us cut, we’ll be cut anyway, why waste free time on commute just to show up and do remote job on zoom meetings but just at office location?

This is what happens when senior citizens run the bank with their old school ways.

They are no longer sanitizing anything in our office, and some people are nasty non hand washers.
I bring my own wipes and spend the 1st 5+ minutes of my day cleaning the desk where I will sit.
It is a huge waste of time as there are plenty of desk where everyone could have an assigned seat.
I have no one on my team in my location so I could be working at home.

Post ID: @6ozp+1slWD4Eo You are so correct ! Do you know what's worse than Citi forcing us to play "Where's Waldo" all day!!?? Forcing us all to sit together to "collaborate". Employees are aware and know this is a ploy to watch us. Since we're being Forced to RTO we should be allowed to Sit wherever we want !!! We're already in the FVCKEN OFFICE ! I'm in NAM Risk and Everyone must avoid transferring into NAM Risk, or applying for a job in NAM Risk if you're an external job hunter. The MotherFvckers in NAM Risk are ALL An@l Micromanagers and Control Freaks!!! Better yet, Do NOT apply for any job in Citi at all ! And avoid this Sh!tH0le Insane Asylum entirely!!!

The Org Flattening is just Citi PR BullSH!T. Citi FIRED 300 MDs in November only to promote 310 MDs. Citi is STILL Layered and Matrixed as it always has been. Citi is like a Drvg Addict or Alcoholic who's Lying to itself that they do Not need to Change AND they are Not a Drvg Addict or Alcoholic. Like a Drvg Addict, Citi wants to World to Change FOR Citi, Not the other way around. Citi wants the Status Quo, SOS=Same Old Sh!T. Take for example the Actor, Matthew Perry. He was supposedly going to Rehab regularly and even had nurses and other healthcare professionals living with him inside of his houses to watch him and make sure he does Not relapse or sneak in Drvgs into his numerous houses. Even his friends including TV Show "Friends" castmates (i.e. Jennifer Aniston) publicly stated and believed Matthew was clean and sober for almost 2 years. The Dude was Lying both to himself and the whole World. He was paying women he met on Dating Apps to sneak in Drvgs into his homes Because Matthew knew the healthcare workers do Not frisk or check Dates. They only frisk and check friends and relatives. Citi is the same delusional way.......living in its own Denial CitiBubble Unable to Break and Stop its Old Bad Habits!!! We all know what happened to Actor, Matthew Perry. He's Extinct just like Citi will soon become! LOL! Post ID: @1zjl+1stCSnvA

I suffocate in the office, everything is so crammed together and I feel claustrophobia, plus all of the desks are super low it's like being on low squatting position all day long. A lot of the desks also don't have the adjustable height monitors so also have to crouch.

Hate the open office plan where you play 'Where's Waldo?' every day. All this forced togetherness is supposed to make us want to collaborate in the midst of layoffs? When none or very few of your projects include someone in the same physical office? Don't make me laugh (interferes with other zoom calls).

Citi wants to be visionaries, on cutting edge and forward thinking. Yet, they are trying to regress back to old antiquated dinosaur ways of everyone back in the office even though you are more effective when working from home.

Let’s go back to the olden times where you show up to work in a suit and tie, everyone carries a brief case whether you need one or not. All this even though you are NOT customer facing. After work everyone meets at the old folgy club and smoke cigars and drink scotch and talk about stocks and bond and political affairs.

Forcing people in person is like asking people to stop wearing seat belts when driving. Remote work is here to stay because it works. Going to the office to spend all day in zoom calls offers no gain for the extra commuting time. Most teams are global. In person work should be voluntary. Give people free lunch or some perk.

I stopped following it too. I do worry that they might use it to fire me rather than layoff (which I wouldn't mind one bit). No one has said a word about it though. I know it was a consideration of the last layoffs so hopefully I'd get the same treatment

Because you didn't apply for a remote position to begin with. That's why.

Could be a reason for getting fired. They monitor that (gives someone something to do) and got called out as my ADA had expired. Let them lay you off, collect their money while you enjoy the time off.
