Any word on extension of wfh? Will we back in November?

Finally life will be back to normal. Well, almost. Let’s say 60-70% normal.
Guess it is back to the office for the holidays!! Oh boy anyone else ready. Sure was a nice ride while it lasted, but 3 days in and 2 wfh is still a sweet deal.
Nothing I said was incorrect. Quit living in your bubble of misinformation. Maybe you need to read more from Martin Kulldorff, epidemiologist, Professor of Harvard Medical School, and Public Health expert.
The people who are obsessively asking about WFH on this board are exactly the type of people who you don't want working from home. For that matter, you probably don't want them working for you in the office either.
@5wcy - every single thing you said is factually wrong. Congratulations on being consistent.
If you work for the company you should be fired for stupidity! You might get severance because technically it is not for cause. Why did we hire someone like you in the first place?
Vaccine mandates are illogical at this point. The vaccines neither prevent infection or transmission. If you have a vaccine, it “should” protect you from severe disease though that seems less and less certain.
Even Pfizer’s latest study (ie funded by Pfizer) published today said that efficacy of the vaccine on Covid infection wanes to about 47% within 5 months. And, it is not because of Delta according to their report. It is the vaccine itself. Since this was a Pfizer study, it is most likely a generous estimate of efficacy.
No matter how hard the media tries to push the narrative that breakthrough cases are “rare”, they are not. Vaccinated are spreading disease to other vaccinated.
The only logical way to stop Covid is to test both vaccinated and non vaccinated on a weekly or twice weekly basis. Severe penalties should exist if someone comes to work symptomatic ... vaccinated people are writing off symptoms to “allergies” when it may be a mild Covid case because some vaccinated people still believe that they cannot catch Covid because they were “vaccinated”.
I’d much rather be around naturally immune people at this point ... the Covid recovered seem to have more robust and durable immunity than vaccinated people. And, we have quite a few Covid recovered employees, especially in the field. People who could not WFH because of the nature of their jobs who caught Covid, recovered and now have natural immunity.
I’m not adverse to a mask mandate in common areas. Though it should be a N95 or similar mask ... not the ones that have been dangling from a rear view window for the last month only to be pulled down when needed ... or one that is kept in a back pocket until forced to wear.
@1udn+1d5d6MGl - By the way I will put the intelligence of The Woodlands (Montgomery County) residents right up there or past anything in Houston. Again, you just show how stupid you are. Not everyone is in the backwoods.
@1udn+1d5d6MGl - Your attitude is not very good to your co-workers. I sure hope you are not in a position of leadership. I guess you are one of those that wants to have employees share bathrooms, and that is more important to you than people making the best decision for themselves. You have no clue what other people are thinking about the vaccine and should not make stupid blanket comments.
“Zero In” WFH extensions.
Get everyone vaccinated and you will not have a problem. Also, people who want to take the animal worm ki----g pills should be locked up in a mental facility for the rest of their lives. This would reduce the id--t population of the counties like Montgomery county which might be a good thing.
October 31st is a Sunday. November 2nd at the earliest, but like you said, possibly later.
Email said earliest return was October 31st but I bet later than that. Last thing the EC wants is to rush back to the office the moment cases start to dip just to have them uptick again. News flash, even with the vaccine, covid is still spreading.
I have a feeling not too many companies are still wfh. The roads around Houston during the day and at rush hour are still jam packed with people. Unless they are supposed to be working from home and they are treating the workday as leisure time to play.
I think they need to make a decision that everyone vaccinated come into the office, or all non-vaccinated come into the office. The testing once a week just gives a snapshot at that time, and welcomes mistakes, so that is not a good option. If people don't want to be vaccinated that is their business and I respect that, and I need to be respected for not wanting to be in a situation where there is a stronger chance of getting Covid. I have been vaccinated and will be getting the booster as well, but with the breakthrough cases I am not sure that will do it.
I have co-workers that are good employees that are not vaccinated, and I don't want to see them fired, so I will just WFH if I can. The military is getting rid of staff with a dishonorable discharge and that is not right. Teachers and others in some states are being fired and unemployment being denied. I do not think it is right to discriminate against people who do not want to be vaccinated. Next time it might be something else and I don't want to be discriminated against if I don't believe in the next round of mandates.
WFH seems like the best option for everyone all the way around.
Why wouldn’t people come back to the office if everyone were vaccinated? Force the vaccination and fire those who don’t comply. This is a great way to reduce the payroll and pave the way for hiring more intelligent people to replace those let go.
Doubt it. Covid cases are still too high. I bet after the 1st of the year.
