Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Delayed annual increase?

Anyone know the real reason why the increase discussion is moved to mid-year? Isn’t there usually a small layoff around that time? Should we be prepared for another round of layoffs?

@8ncn+19NiMm7v - How demoralizing! Essentially being told that you're not valuable enough to be kept and that you need to train your replacement.

Some of us have known our job is going away but thought we had more time. Heard NCR has been replaced and we get to train the new company to do our jobs.

@6lug+19NiMm7v - "CSS is due to layoff all CSRs in Q2."

All the SSE's know this for a long time. They were informally told (via backroom conversations) in October and have been urged to apply for SEM positions. The sad part is the move from SSE to SEM will not double their salary to bring it in line with other existing SEMs. Instead, they will get another 5-10k instead of the 70k bump they should.

it's all about the cash flow and makes sense. Im thankful to get a pay rise. I know someone who left and took a pay cut thinking they'd get a pay rise in 2021 and they would be back on even keel and then their new employer has ceased all pay rises until 2023. They would have been better off staying

It will be for cashflow purposes. Think of the share price and what will happen once 4 consecutive quarters of growth are announced to market under new CEO...

there is need for a recognized international day for layoffs. a platform for leaders to post a video, proclaim its importance to them personally, as a fibre of their very being and important to our evolution as inanimate objects, many of which they have had the privilege to talk at and now fire , to wave you off with a smile and hashtag with a challenge to do better in the years to come. Onedrive, Outlook and Teams accounts go offline, Couriers scurry about collecting company assets, Banks call to inquire about mortgages, Retailers ship out cases of liquor and offers on loungeware and Linked in shows you as moving on to explore new opportunities

RUN!!!! RUN LIKE THE WIND!!! You already know what TD does just by posting this! (Also, yeah, they've done this before - pushing out raises to May so they can get one last lay off out of the way). I guess we'll just lean back, grab the popcorn, and see how it plays out here.

Seriously? If you're honestly asking this question, you're one of the reasons the company is in such bad shape.

Yes. Everything is fine. The world loves us & really wants to buy a 1985 Toyota Tercel for it's amazing technology.
