Anyone who’s been at CommScope that long should know better than to count on a severance package.

They changed the severance policy right before they laid a large group off a few years ago. Cut potential severance in half. They will do it again. I wouldn't be making career decisions based on a possible payout. California law helps you rack up vacation that would have to be paid out. there is no state law keeping them from changing policies again. You are owed nothing for your years of employment that hasn't already been given to you in the form of a paycheck.

Unfortunately not heard of any IT employees getting anywhere near this even with 20 years service. Different strokes for different folks

I have worked here for 20 years. Due to my length of service, I am entitled to a severance package worth six figures if they let me go. If I resign, I would lose 90% of that severance. That is the reason

All socials such as Christmas parties or summer events went out the door after Arris left the building in 2019.
In all seriousness ,anyone left probably due family circumstances as previous poster stated and lucky enough to work remote.

The fact I am still remote. Having two specials needs children and remote is what has kept me here.
Accurate summary.
It's hard to get off the hamster wheel when invested years in a place.
"A bad state" is a huge understatement and there is no "happy glow" for any employee here unless there are those on top management shelf seeing the monetary rewards.
There are a few reasons people stay.
One is waiting for the big pay day or retirement if you're of that age.
The other is when you see you've lost your skills, that no other place will take you and it's game over. You're just hanging on pay day to pay day.
Anyway, the best people have left this sinking ship. It's a shocking place and in a bad state.
