Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

So this acquisition is more like Dell takeover of Broadcom?

We all though Broadcom is taking over VMware but it sounds like it was more like Michael Dell takeover of Broadcom all along. What do you think? Ready to work for a new boss?

VMware veteran here, comments in here about VMware being inefficient, poorly managed and needing to "shape up" are exactly 100% on point. I've been there more than a decade and see a startup company that grew up, but in many ways never grew up.

It will be welcomed to have focused leadership, clear vision, and cutting of all 'extraneous projects' that are not meaningful. VMware got into so many different things that didn't drive core value for the customers or partners and it most certainly was negative for the shareholders.

now, as I sign off, a quick word about me. I'm a 13 year veteran, who has NOT received any letter at all despite being consistently stack ranked at the top of my organization. So I have no future with AVGO and wish you guys the best of luck. There are many good people at VMware, but major change is needed and it seems that you guys are the ones best suited to do the trick.

I'm working on finishing up my tasks and resume and starting a job search.

Best of Luck to you with the new company!

"CEOs will be liable if they misled the shareholders."

Prediction: This won't age well

You just proved my point of being delusional. What fraud are you talking about? Broadcom is a public company right? CEOs will be liable if they misled the shareholders.

Of course we all have the freedom of speech to criticize but what’s your criticism?

Regarding WFH, let’s clear few things. Broadcom has WFH roles for Sales and IC who doesn’t need to collaborate. Every tech company is trying to bring their employees back to the office because the mgmt knows that the productivity is terrible for WFH based on the data that they have collected. If the data was so good, they would have sold their real estate assets and do WFH. WFH works for motivated individuals like in a startup environment. I’m sure there are some motivated individuals in VMware but as company wide policy will be not efficient. Broadcom buying you guys because you are not doing business efficiently in many aspects.

It’s all business. Hock knows what’s he doing.

Do you know why the activity here is so little? Nobody cares. Employees are well taken care of. We are treated as adults not babysit us.

I was checking their layoff page… my god.. most of the posts are probably from who didn’t receive the welcome letters. Yeah agree, it’s difficult time for them but the delusion is off the charts.

No joke! I’m out, I don’t have the patience to go through another round of this BS the next few years while they assimilate or quit and we are left holding the unappreciated empty bag.
