I left because the more advanced your career became, the more abusive and horrible your bosses became - and there was no sign of that changing.

I can count at least 20 abusive people in Adidas in one breath. Nothing will happen to them for doing abuse or disrespect, instead they will be rewarded with promotion & more power to being able to inflict it more :)

Will be so good not to have to walk down the corridor and see that man anymore. Let’s not forget the damage he caused to people but also let’s not forget those who facilitated the behavior and in doing so exposed good people to unfair treatment , most notably the newly promoted Chief of HR.

Martin is a top a--hole. He was so bad, he made Harm look angelic in comparison, which says a lot.

I cannot understand how a fantastic brand like adidas can have such poor exec leaders! Mindboggling!

MAJOR STEP in moving our momentum forward! This is an even bigger win than all the gold metals our athletes just won!

Martin’s exit has been long overdue. The legacy he leaves behind in markets is problematic to say the least. His relative who happens to be a GM in Emerging markets, an erstwhile Barbeque boy, is a big bully who gets his way mirroring some of his mentor’s behavior. He only surrounds himself with people from certain nationalities and while he can’t deliver as projected, strong arms the rest of the team. So much so the MD is also not able to manage him and this guy is known to throw tantrums and get his way. HR is as always non existent. Someone should audit this market.

@7ucg+1t53bK3q Delivering on time has everything to do with HK leadership and nothing to do with Shankland.

I did record his behavior! Timing is everything and you better believe it, this recording will not only shake him but will shake all those who facilitated this behavior. Timing is everything.

I think it’s more simple: the supervisory board doesn’t have a reason to let him go, nor do they want to pay the severance. Meanwhile; Sourcing and Supply Chain are delivering against massive growth in lifestyle and product is arriving on time. From that perspective, he’s doing his job.

TR, the chair of the board was re-elected at the annual meeting for one more year. I don’t think we’ll see a new COO before then.

@6efh+1t53bK3q Hard to say. Shankland is out right abusive, cannot control his emotions, screams at employees, throws tantrums, and his behavior is tolerated for why? Not like he’s done anything to help the brand, only that he is charismatic on camera. If we didn’t learn from the Kanye or Karen Parkin fiasco, we need the press involved to make any real change.

After that, I wouldn’t say DEI has anything to do with the problem, but there is a whole lot of laziness going on, that’s a fact.

He needs to be ousted ASAP.

Boys club? Maybe at the very top.
However, all the DEI under qualified women who have been hired in the past 6 years are still su-king the energy & resources of those who actually have to work past the ineptitude. Much larger and deeper problems not named Shankland. adidas is still suffering from all bad hires, so many bad hires still hiding in the shadows.

How? Someone should record his behavior and send to The NY Times. Went real well for the last board member who was quoted in the press
