Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Another call out on UHG— are you still proud to work for this organization?

How could anyone be proud to work for a company who does this? No difference working for big tobacco or UHG. Both seem to be ki-ling people left and right. Another story in the WSJ.

When acquaintances ask me what I do I just tell then "IT" and avoid telling them where if I can. This place is shameful.

Like others have said..I'm only here until I can leave.

Very true, I have never been in so many back to back meetings. We have just been acquired and we can't get our day to day work done.

I've sold out. I'm here because I need to pay for the costs of adulthood. I do the minimum amount to satisfy my job obligations. My years here have shown the company will not go above and beyond to recognize work that outperforms the rest of the team. It's left me burnt out and disgruntled as I've watched friends and long-time coworkers laid off, many after a decade+ of service.

The job market is competitive, and until I am able to obtain a job with similar title and salary, I stay.

Get the whole MA vs Traditional Medicare thing- but if you read the expose, it clearly states that UHG specifically the Nusing home MA plan was denying any skilled care after a hospital stay for some members. Traditional covers after a 3 day hospitalization event. Also how denials of care were increasing since 2022 , which we now now was based on the Navi health flawed algorithms. Everything always catches up to you. Can’t hide from your misdeeds

The basis of the problem is medicare was never designed to support a population this old. In 1966 when it all started payout for recipients was only expected for 13 years past the age of 65 . Also the switch to traditional from advantage is not guaranteed like initial enrollment all of your prex diagnosis are reviewed for underwriting hence may be rejected or high premiums. There is no free lunch

I’m not a fan of any MA plan. However, traditional Medicare only covers so many days of rehab or skilled nursing home. It doesn’t cover nursing home stays long term. Read up on Medicare vs MA.

Nobody here with more than a couple brain-cells to rub together likes this company. The only people who enjoy working here are useless middle-managers who make meetings to schedule meetings that they cancel.
