Accenture started COVID-related layoffs today. Details are still unclear but ~10% of U.S workforce is the internal target being thrown around. Cyber practices heavily impacted.

@5rcu the 10% number came from the Wall Street Oasis, they broke the news and they covered Deloitte layoffs fairly well. Operating Groups / DTEs were hit, so it's beyond a single group (be it sales or not)...
10% seems crazy high. Where did this come from?
My understanding was they let go sales people who weren't hitting their number and client-facing people with low chargeability. I expect a bunch more layoffs coming after Performance Achievement is finished. Been with the firm over 20 years, and I will be surprised if I make it through this downturn.
You can assume that if you are about 10 point under your chargeability target you are in trouble.
Ney @2mno this was me too. Was told by my project lead today so we could prepare message to the client and he was livid that he was not informed beforehand since the client loves me and the work I’m doing. Oh well. Onwards and upwards.
