i spoke to someone in a "corporate function" that i expected to be wiped out. this person indicated getting a retention bonus. just a datapoint...ymmv

I got the email from my VP and the confirmation from HR. I got RSUs vesting over 3 years with Nov 1 as the issue date and vesting quarterly. It was less than $300,000 but still significant. My manager had put me at the top of the stack rank but didn't know that I got the letter until I told them. Now we shall see how the work day goes.

Retention RSU grants happen on Nov 1 and VPs are not the only people doing the communication. If you haven't heard yet, then you probably aren't getting one.

VPs are awarding the retention bonuses directly and are not informing the line managers.

Why would you get an email about a retention bonus? Your manager, unless they suck or there was a big mixup or the decision was made while they were on PTO or some other legit excuse, should be informing you if said bonus prior to receiving such an email…

Not retention bonus (cash) but retention RSU, 3 yrs, 300k vests each quarter (12 quarters) , first vest Feb.

Im in a BU they couldn’t sell off or they would not have a company. Received a stack of RSUs with a much better vest schedule , doubtful they mean anything with a layoff.
