Copier business taking major hit, but expected because it’s a dying industry. Retail channel continues to lose millions in profit.
Is canon inc newport news ,va laying off??
@5kue+17r8gxx6, Megapode? Please explain. Learning so much about far right VA ideology/FUD versus layoffs here but that’s okay; very entertaining!
All businesses will be affected megapode th left seizes power
Early 2021? Thanks for the heads up. Guess we’re all just Biden our time till then?
Fact checked: Xerox Holdings Corporation is wholly owned; Fujifilm Holdings pulled out of the deal in 2019 and they bought their remaining shares in FujiXerox which will be renamed in April 2021 when Fuji have the ability to capitalise in whole world market and xerox loses their Japanese partner for product development. Similarly to Canon, xerox will partner with HP going forward for their colour devices, to start with.

No love. No tacos.
Wouldn’t note share price as main indicator of company’s true strength. Xerox actually higher than HP but thats due to the increase in dividend and cost cutting. Xerox issues were way before 2018... suffice it to say the whole industry is having severe challenges.
August 6 1945: Bombing of Hiroshima. Classy reference. Hard to keep up but maybe webmaster could scrub this delightful piece o hate off too?
Any specific areas??

Any layoffs recently at canon cvi??
Magic Beans for Sale.
The real winner August 6 1945
That is correct we could cut out coal fired power plants like California then we could have rolling black outs in the summer like they do . That would be real progress and the tree huggers would be happy
Another couple of facts , these are just facts. I realize some people have trouble with reality. Hewlett Packard is consistently near top Fortune 500 company . Stock closed today at 19.60 canon 15.7

Which departments are actually laying off at canon cvi newport news recently or in the near future?
Xerox was acquired by fujifilm in 2018 . Downhill since. Just a fact , but this liberal world is not interested in facts
Americans should start their own copier printer company that’d show Canon... Oh wait they did: xerox... never mind.
Specific metrics big words someone has their dictionary out. Must be in the engineering field, most engineers have the need to throw in big words and make a simple task complicated
@1gbl+17r8gxx6 - love your ambiguous rhetoric. I don’t even have to see the specifics metrics of your business case as your confidence has totally convinced me your correct.
why wait for 2021 to layoff. why not now
If situation was reversed and company ran by Americans the company wouldn’t be in this situation. Hard working Americans have the ability to adapt and smart enough to realize just in time manufacturing is actually a cost burden
You’d be okay if situation was in reverse if canon was an American company: Americans first to go?
The number of layoffs at cvi is not reveled , they are trying to keep there false persona as a big happy family. They have the mentality that everything can be solved with overpriced engineers while continuing to cut hard working employees
How many employees has Canon Cvi Newport News honestly laid off in the last 4 months?
As the business shrinks, it's amazing Canon still continues to hire engineers.
All departments will be affected, the rumor is Canon va will be going to one shift next year
Does this effect all departments?
Yes canon va, some happening early! Today some were let go.
