Formerly service electric is operating with 100% contractor labor. Don’t believe it? Ask your sup how many in-house techs are working in 7879. It has begun. This is only the beginning...

I agree I can’t do this anymore I have to find something else to do. To much lying 🤥 Fraud and others to say the least. There is absolutely no reason or future here anymore. Guys wake up I know it won’t be easy but there is a better life than working for a company where the money goes overseas. They do not give a sh–t about you Management will tell you the same; ( the whole 2 we got ) What a joke. The absolute worst service since they took over They should not be allowed to operate on Long Island!!
👇I see you get it I don’t know why no one else does I would not work for this place anymore. I have 3 weeks left and I’m out for a better life, Altice will fail for there cheap operations. Management knows it and so do the techs. All management Will end up working for contractors. Sad but true, I will never 👎 work for a cable company again ITS OVER
I see absolutely nothing has changed around here lol. Me personally, I wouldn't be wasting anymore time trying to polish this tu–d. To each their own I guess. Good luck, you're going to need it.
The horror! What kind of union would help get your job back?
So what your saying is the union helped . Thank you .
So last post comment, if he was non union would he have got his job back ?????????? I have been here almost 30 years and others that were here longer and no one can remember a person being fired and getting their job back . That’s the reason I’m care you were wondering
just remember, union or not, the company controls you. Just because you have a contract doesn't mean you're safe. Metrics are a given, you suck, you're gone. You don't just get a raise for being a crummy tech. It will catch up to you. I know someone that got let go in a union shop for numbers. FIRED...crazy is he got his job back after a year. A YEAR!!! The company said yea he can come back but we're going to ship him to a different corp. Maybe if theres an opening where he left someday, he can transfer. Great he kept his seniority, great somehow he got his job back but remember the union that got him his job back is the same one that walked with him out the door. Dude was fired and is still being punished!!! For what?!?!?! The company controls the contract remember that. They will run buisiness as needed. Oh they can't layup off and backfill contractors. Really? When the layoffs happened last year they cut back the contractors just to make them look like they weren't being used. I had to dig for the stewards because they couldn't figure it out. These people are not stupid. Pay attention and do your own homework and remember, nobody is your friend.

👇You ready to bite them out
👇Guess what we are union Stupidity never seems to amaze me . The point is there is not enough union shops or people left to do anything about it. What will you do grab what is between your legs and strike for better and safer working conditions. Good luck with that. They will just back fill with contractors. So think again 👇👇👇👇with a stupid post like this
You want to stop the nonsense . You know what to do. Not listen to this 👇guy. Union up. !!!
Keep dreaming 👇with this post We are union. Too little to late Accept the fact the job is over, I’m not against you just advising you The job is done ,no one came together when Brooklyn went union, and guess what soon as contract was over all management was let go! Now they work for contractors. ( lack of something better to do) SCABS got us beet. If this is what they want so be it . It’s a dead end job with no future. Pathetic in my opinion. Call vision pro and ask who runs it, for 1/2 salary it’s embarrassing. Your old supervisors are all in it. Check it out for yourself
You keep hearing the same BS because you keep saying the same BS. You seem to be very confident what the union will get us during renegotiations . They did pretty good the first negotiations and got us more than we would have on our own . Plus they saved some jobs . How is that not a positive . 1% tax Deductible. Comes right off your taxable income . Or lose 100% of your salary w no union if your the next one tapped for the layoff.
Gentlemen unfortunately the money being made here is going overseas. You must accept the job you worked so hard to build, is over. You must unfortunately accept this, don’t keep thinking you will have a job . Your own in house trainers are training contractors faster than you can imagine and better. Just save your self the grief and move on .
Can't get LAID while contractor labor is being used? Damn that sucks, why would anyone work here if you can't get laid? Especially since all they use are contractors.
Can’t get laid while contract labor is used .
yeah yeah yeah we keep hearing the same BS about the techs who were called back after altice breached the contract so what? that wont do anything for you when it comes time to renegotiate but good luck
You're right union can get laid off... As long as they are not using contractors to supplement the layoffs. FACTS they already tried it.
You absolutely can get laid off with a union. But if you think you can’t. Keep drinking the kook aid
These crooks have found a way to circumvent every agreement they made while purchasing this company while dealing with far bigger entities than a local union. But hey, keep patting yourself on the back. Let us know how negotiations go when your CBA expires.
They can’t lay me off with scabs working.. what about you..??
When Home Depot and Pep Boys have more employees than ALtice . Let that sink in. Save yourself and family. I can’t wait till the next VRP. Union shops keeping paying your dues for scabs to work in your area
@1opb+1anWM5gb they wouldn't change that. I think the whole point of the post was to show that altice can and will use all contractor labor. there are people out there who still think this is not possible but the proof is in the pudding...
Who the F cares, if asstice is OK with it then
It eez what it eez.....
They have a guy running osp that never did osp work. He is clueless. They are contracting osp work because there is nobody left in management that knows the job. They all think just because the computer says its green, its good. These shoe makers are making work for years to come.
Don’t worry OSP contractors are already here working on SRO and NID jobs here on Long Island .. so that’s the beginning of the end !!!!!
Service Electric was ran by mostly contractors as it was.....why would they change that?

Excerpt from an article written Aug 1 2016...
"Altice has been very ingenious in finding ways around the spirit if not the letter of commitments it has made abroad about employment, the quality of the services of its acquired properties will deliver and its adherence to policies that promote the public interest. One individual - Patrick Drahi - is the sole and unchallengeable decider within Altice and his position is unassailable within its corporate structure. Some of the same (his) key lieutenants that implemented Altice's anti-employee, anti-customer, anti-contractor tactics abroad under his instructions are in charge of Altice USA."
"Even as consumers and others suffer, investors may be able to take advantage of Altice's acquisition of Cablevision if they are short sellers and get the timing right. However at some point Altice's business model will implode. Altice's excessively aggressive pursuit of deep cost cuts leads to a meaner and not a leaner or more efficient and innovative organization. It increases cash flow to pay down debt in the shorter term but results in a loss of competitiveness and hence a declining customer base and falling revenues as well as demotivated employees and contractors who feel they have been cheated. This model is not ultimately sustainable"

They laid off a bunch of people, they don't backfill vacant positions, contractor labor is regularly increasing, 0 career progression or room to advance, busted up vehicles, no tools, constantly running out of supplies and they continue to blow smoke up our as–s about the future of the company. Depots can petition for representation all they want, it won't prevent these issues, it wont prevent them from reducing the in-house head count and it wont stop altice from being an overall POS company ran by POS people. So yeah, I would say the trend is pretty obvious.
No meter,no experience no problem!Noise everywhere,blame OSP.Activations down,blame tech mobility.Lack of techs/bodies,blame Covid.See the trend here?
altice bought the Sussex county (northern nj) footprint from service electric a year or so ago this area borders Warwick and Morris system. The field service work is being routed to only contractors no in house.
please elaborate for those outside of 7879.
