Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

Anyone hearing about another round of layoffs in October? I’ve heard 5,200 but that’s hard to believe.

They are picking off management, 1 or 2 at a time. Keeps it out of the news. Those I’m aware of were older, probably higher paid. Good luck to all that have been laid off or will be laid off.

The last layoff was not management, at least not in NYS. They offered vsp to all of the assignors and complex assignors. They needed 41 to take the vsp, 45 took it. Their last day is September 30th. It was not generous, it was 3 months pay. My husband had 300 people below him, he now has 2.

Last round of separation prior to the assignors was techs. When the bumping was all done, some bumped into central office positions with no hands on training. There are not enough techs left to even train the new ones.

Supervisors are now putting in requisitions for more techs because there are not enough of them to get the jobs done.

Its like they have intentionally been driving this company into the ground, and they are doing a great job.

Unless your sitting at that round table you don't know what they're going to do. Otherwise it would be insider trading violations. Good luck to you!
At some point they will restructure the management. Whole point of a restructuring is to do it with less management.“

Need to get your facts right. The last reductions were mostly targeted at management and overhead roles.

Ever since Frontier went down the “ESG” rabbit hole it has performed terribly with the market, as with most other companies that have done the same. Pair that with possible incoming lawsuits over their robust “DEI” department the company will have no choice but to cut way back. Poor decisions by poor management.

I know of two groups being partially laid off, unfortunately I am in one of them. We were given a generous severance package and I have no ill will against the company

Looking to see a merger coming. Whoever that mo--n in the first post is should be the first to receive walking papers. People like you is what has driven this Company in the ground. Disparaging front line employees who workin 100 plus degree heat to continue to meet customer needs while you sit your a-s at home in the air conditioning is not what Nick wants I’m sure. To think that you are a management person for Frontier is discouraging . You need a reality check and a pink slip. You du----s!

"Frontier needs to get rid of all the lazy techs and just use contractors. I’m a supervisor in a call center and my reps get complaint calls from customers all day about the d-mb techs. From running over family pets in their vans to stealing valuables out of the houses where there are installing service, I’ve heard it all. The Union is to be blamed for allowing these convicts to be hired in the first place. This really burns my biscuits!"

Though highly unlikely, if you are a call center supervisor it's not in a Frontier call center. You probably work for one of the cable companies who use only contractors in their centers, so naturally you're going to come on here and bad mouth our techs and the union. You know about as much about Frontier as you apparently do about making biscuits.

How many employees do we even have anymore? Can't imagine letting 5k more go. We are pretty thin where we are the way it is.

At this point I am unsure of how many frontier employees actually remain. I can't see them laying off another 5000. However I could see them bring the numbers down to 5k remaining. They are still actively offering vsp packages as we speak. So I don't see another mass layoff coming. Just gonna keep rolling the vsp packages from department to department

You mean it’s not really necessary to have 2 managers, 1 coordinator and 1 engineer for each construction tech. I mean how would they do their jobs when they have 4 people telling them how to do their job (all of it wrong). But still how would construction ever get anything done.

Your post is incompetent to say the least. It’s a blatant lie to be factual. I doubt in any way you’re a supervisor of anything or work for the company. If you did in fact work for the company you’d know that “employees” are vetted before being hired. None of the things you mention would allow a person of that character or “conviction” to be employed by the company. Unless of course, they were a contractor. Which the company does not vet. The company merely vets the contracting company and who they hire is claimed by the company to be not their responsibility.

@zkl+1oaer nice try but it’s the contractors we get all the complaints about. Calls daily about contractor techs smoking weed, bringing their family on an install, running outlets through open windows. Contractors need to be fired and go back to all in-house union techs. Contractors have zero clue how to do their job
